socialism = lack of competition = inefficiency = high costs

Everything is connected to everything in a society :)

Enjoy!

Last time I checked, telcos weren't run by the government here. We have the CRTC, but I think their problems have more to do with nepotism than socialism.

I agree with your premise, but it doesn't really help your credibility to blame everything on socialism. Protectionism, maybe.

Free market and free minds. That is the only way.

The mentality pervades for one. Second the government controls the spectrum and although it is trying to increase competition it fails. The main reason why we dont have proper competition IMO is the ownership rules that prevent major foreign carriers and companies from operating without a Canadian parent company. Virgins failure is a good example of this. Yes they are still virgin but is it telus or rogers that owns it now?

Government interference is rarely a good thing in the long run

my internet sucks and i get hijacked when torrenting certain hours. When I had cogeco i was getting 900 kbs while torrenting, on bell im luck if i get 500 kbs during hours when im allowed to downoald. Yet the prices are the same.

The internet i a joke here, Bell is horrible... always been.

Throttling? What's that? I've said it once, I will say it again.

Acanac + SSH tunnel = full speed torrents.
