The Trance lover/listener/DJ inside me says:
So that's the best TRANCEaddict.com can produce in a remix contest of a Trance classic. Half of the tracks I don't consider of that genre at all, but I guess it anyway was no rule. The other half is missing the organic feeling, pretty synthetic sounds, like plastic... Two tracks are standing out with 9 and 11. At 9 the beat has serious problems and it's sooo slow, almost chill. At 11 I can't stand the "horny cat" sounds.
My vote goes for the beat and speed of 11 combined with the structure of 9! That would easily make an impact! :D |

| Somehow the correct version of my track never got to Theran. Not his fault but it's not making any sense to me. Pretty pissed that I spent a lot of time fixing things and a month old first draft is what people will hear of mine. LOL mbn to be me:( |

9 is hands down the best one. How is it "soooo slow"? Trance doesn't have to be 140 bpm. Most of what I listen to now is between 126-128. Track 11 was also well done. Good job guys. |

The melody in this track isn't suited for being played that slowly. On top of that, slower trance is almost always progressive.
This was exactly as I expected. I think there are some good things in each track but glaring flaws in every single one (some bigger than others).
I figured this was going to be the case as the track didn't have a lot of room to maneuver with it while keeping the essence of the original. Quite simply I don't think anyone spent very much time on these because nobody felt too strongly about remixing them. |

Remix 1 is blowing my mind!
Its a great change of pace compared to all the other trancier remix versions submitted in my opinion.
Nice house rhythm, and great sampling, well done to those producers! |

Trance has to be faster than 135bpm. Everything below I don't consider to be Trance anymore. The reason is simple. When I go jogging and measure my heartbeat, it's slightly above 140bpm when doing distances between 6km and 10km. If I run slower I don't reach the point where my muscles become numb. Same goes for dancing to Trance. To dance to rhythm and melody to fall into trance I need to bring my body into a numb state, so then I can release the boundaries of my mind.
Slower music doesn't provide that effect and thus can't be called Trance. ;) |

I would like to correct you on this. In your opinion, trance has to be faster than 135BPM. I don't agree with you. You see, IMO trance is a 'main genre' with a lot of sub genre's like; uplifting, euphoric.. but even progressive etc. The last one is always slower than 135 BPM. Most people consider 'uplifting trance' to be 'trance', but that's not true, it's simply a sub-genre.
You running is a measurement of how you experience trance should be, but it's very subjective. I don't think people can really put a name-tag on a type of music. Mostly, when people ask me what genre of music I make, they get me thinking. Mostly I answer them that it's a combination of trance / progressive / electro and house. Technically, that's progressive house, but If I say that I produce that, people will think I make house, while there are also a lot of trance influences in my music.
Most of the time when I produce a track, people consider it to be trance. And I rarely go above 135BPM. |

Thanks Theran for posting the Remixes! Some of the Remixes are rather "Interesting" and not
really that what I was expecting, but still well done! One of the Remixes sounds like
Mr. Tanneberger worked at it him self:D |

Listening to them now, pretty cool stuff so far :)
EDIT: Done listening to all of them. 2 and 3 are my favorites weird how they are pretty different too. 9 and 11 are also good. But it's between 2nd and 3rd remix. |
