I voted for 001, it has good percussion and lead
Subtle
The track listed as #1 in poll would have gotten the most votes anyways, im sure of it.

It can't be, track 001 has the most analogue feel compared to all of them

And now for some opinionated constructive criticism of Remix 001:

Fade your kick's tail.
Listen to the beginning of the track and you can hear where your kick's tail is NOT ending on a zero crossing.

Your intro for percussion is long and I lose interest quickly (personal preference).

Your snare is too 808 for me. It's the year 2009. Use a better snare. (or if you synthed the snare, synth a better one).

The saw-zap at the beginning is really annoying.

There's no RULES on there not being a bassline. But what the hell. Where the **** is your bassline?

Your percussion has no real variation, and I'm 1/3 of the way in. Same percussion. Same tired old drum samples we've heard time and time again. Which would be fine, if there were a creative twist. Which there isn't.

I'm really bored so far... Oh there's your bassline.

I hate your hat. It makes my ears hurt. Are you using a synthesizer for some of these drums? Reduce the amount of noise you're using to shape some of these hats/snares.

God damnit, there's that kick with the pop at the end of it....

Your bassline exists (I take back what I said previously) but it gets lost in the low-mids of some of the synths you're using. You need more isolation between some of your repetitive synths and your "bassline."

We're more than two-thirds of the way through now. There's that annoying 6 note saw stab.

The best part of this track is the keys that follow right after the annoying 6 note saw stab. I like what you're doing with the trippy pyschoacoustic panning (it sounds like psychoacoustic panning anyway).

Track cuts off at the end. No fade, just a nice POP at the end of your tune. Did you just render the loop region and forget to bounce out a file to edit in a 2 track destructive editor (SoundForge, WaveEdit, Audition, etc)?

It's a good try. But I'm bummed that (based on votes) this track is looking like it's going to win.

Good luck in future competitions and I hope your skills improve (they no doubt will... it all comes with time).

I do not get the 2048 meme.

Someone care to clue me in?

if you haven't heard, 2048 is the industry standard on latency
wrzonance
Lol. Okay got it.

I'll keep that in mind next time I work with "live" MIDI. Nothing like hearing your note happen a few milliseconds after you press the key...

One of the problems with Remix 001 is that it has no clap or snare.

First off whole track is too long, and the quirky percussion patterns get old after awhile. (I assume this is because you were trying to avoid a long breakdown) Shorten the track up, and put some effects on the snare pattern there to give it some flavor. Another huge problem I had with it, is that the sounds you used sound VERY generic. Generic sound and long track make for a very dull listen, although I did think it was a 'ugly puppy cute'.

With this said, your way better off than I was when I started producing and you'll probably be a lot better when you have the experience lol.

With the voting soon to be closed, we thought that this would be the best time to clarify what seems to be some ongoing issues in this thread over the past week and a half.
We are the producers of Remix #1, as some of you might have inferred from reading our posts. But, out of respect for the other producers in the contest we tried to keep our comments as objective as possible in order to maintain fairness.
There are only two issues that we'd like to address and hopefully clarify for everyone who is following along:
Firstly, the simplicity of the remix and low quality of production. We are first-time producers, and this is our first remix competition. Without saying, we weren't expecting to be in this position at the end of the competition (we were happy when we got our second vote.) We entered thinking that we'd get some pointers in production since most of the voters would be producers, but the lack of constructive criticism has been a sad state of affairs. Especially since most of the harsh comments about our track come from producers who are part of the competition.

Secondly, the rigging of the competition in our favor. This is just childish. We were more than happy with our own vote as we said. The fact that other people "enjoyed" our remix is surprising.
We only voted for our track once, the other votes were made by other TA users and everyone should respect their votes.

Last but not least we would like to thank those of you who voted for our our track, as well as those whose comments have actually help us grow as producers!

cronodevir We would love to hear your pointers
Theran Thank for your help so far - You have been GREAT!

Thank you!

You need to understand most of the people weren't bashing your production, it was obvious that you were new and with that said the track is not bad. But the ones it is going up against are made by far more experienced producers and the tracks reflect that. Your track does not match its current position in the poll. THIS is why people are upset, because they feel the competition has been doomed from the start. Now I'm sorry to say it but once it got brought up about possible fraud people have been voting for it just because. I think a lot of people want to see someone that said they'd play the winning mix on their radio shows struggle to fit it in.

Like I said this contest should be done and the thread locked, it's obvious nobody is taking this seriously.
