Saw them last night at the big Guvernment Canada Day show here in Toronto. I'm on a sports/electronic music road trip all the way from the great state of Virginia. :)
I'll post videos of Cosmic Gate from last night but they were very very good. They probably had the third best set of the night though here north of the border.
Ferry was the best. Menno de Jong closed out at just after 6am and was the second best. I think Cosmic Gate was third best in my opinion out of the main acts. That's after resident DJ Mark Oliver opened for the night.
I know this is off topic but I think Cosmic Gate would be really good for Charlotte if we could get them at The Forum.

Just got back from Opera, left a little early cuz GF wasn't feeling too well
Not too many people showed up, I was expecting a lot more people to show up for these trance legends
Most mixes were on spot for the duo and they were working the crowd pretty well
I've heard a couple of big trance anthem and their own productions for the time I was there. I leave the tracklist for Mistiso (Trey) since he's the "master" at it

Whoa, that was an awesome show. As TranceLuver4evr said, the crowd was tiny, probably due to (1) low visibility, (2) Wednesday (wtf), and (3) PVD the preceding week. Those who did attend were mostly pretty devoted fans, which contributed to a lively setting. Towards the very end the place was mostly empty, and Cosmic Gate suddenly vanished before 3:00am, never to return. I imagine they were pretty disappointed or irritated by the low turnout. They deserved much better treatment from Atlanta, since I had at least as much (if not more) fun this week than at PVD's packed show last week.
Especially considering the small audience, Opera should have placed the DJs on the main stage. I still enjoyed the hell outta their set.
My memory's lousy, but I'll contribute some tracks to the list in an arbitrary order.

First off, I will say that I decided to make the last-minute, "game time" decision to go to the show while I was on the road at 9:00 AM this morning to Montgomery, AL for work ;)
Left Montgomery around 5:30 ET and went straight home, got ready, picked up my girlfriend, and we were on our way. I will say that I've NEVER been happier about making a decision to go to a show because it was the most fun I'd had going out in a long, long, long, long time :)
(Still doesn't offset the fact of the show being moved to a god damned Wednesday).
Anyhow, good crowd. Perfect size for dancing your ass off anywhere you wanted and better than I was thinking for a Wednesday. I actually talked to Nic at one point and he said that "hopefully, they can come back again on a Thursday when there's more people." I think that's what they were pissed about (slightly) because they most likely had to change other dates too and it was a hassle. A lot of other factors involved too as Calamar said (touche). But the people there were the ones that were there solely to see Cosmic Gate.
While I wish it could have been Thursday as more of my friends would have been able to make it, I will still go on record as saying that the 7 years was worth the wait. Tons of excitement and excellent tracks & mixing, not to mention seeing my girlfriend have the best time of her life and experience her first real DJ event ;)
Hadn't seen Jack in about 2 years so that in and of itself made my night (and seeing Jen too, of course) :)

Perhaps it was just me wanting to see this show SO badly that made it one of the best (I think) ever over-all at Opera. Just think it was poorly executed. I bought a $10 VIP band, only to get up there and they tell me that the sections by the DJ booth was closed due to lack of people. Way to f'n GO Opera!
Hope they come back again relatively soon. I think with better planning (maybe a Liquified event?) it could be one of the best show's Atlanta's ever seen :) |

Was way too tired and had class at 10am. Just couldn't will myself to do it. I'm really mad at myself now though because of the low turnout, means Nic probably won't come by on a solo visit anytime soon.
Bummer.
