HOWEVER...
There seems to be confusion about the date.
Wanttickets.com is saying the 1st, which is tomorrow.
I've always been under the impression that it's Thursday, the 2nd.
Since when is "College Night" ever on a Wednesday anywhere?
Devin - please confirm? |

I can't recall the last time PVD was here on a day other than Wednesday.
Just trying to confirm what the date of Cosmic Gate truly is, that's all. I don't give a what kind of "night" they call it. Just call it the "actual night of Cosmic Gate's appearance." |

| It's Wednesday night. Got changed like 2 weeks ago or so. Most EDM events are being moved to Wednesday now. Apparently Opera has a new hip-hop night planned for Thursdays. Not sure if this is just for the summer or what...but I hope it doesn't stick. Wednesdays suck for me. |

Sucks for me also, seeing as now that since it's tomorrow instead of Thursday, and I'm traveling out of state work work for the day, I won't be able to make it.

That would be last year: Thursday, March 13, 2008. :P
I've got a mixed opinion on Wednesday nights at Opera. I work from home on Thursdays, which means I get an extra hour of sleep that morning (thus reducing the awkwardness of a late night out). On the other hand, it seriously sucks that EDM events are given such a low priority that they're thrust into the middle of the week. This can only result in a lower turnout, which could make it more difficult to attract the big talent. That's a shame, especially since we're enjoying such a great lineup this summer. Are there any other venues that would draw the big names, are suitable for big-room trance, and are EDM-friendly on Thursdays? |

I believe money plays in big-time between the difference of Wednesday to Thursday night, as well as Thursday to Friday / Saturday nights.
Liquified nor Opera (or any club in Atlanta) can float the cash required to bring in names like PVD, Armin, Tiesto, Ferry, etc, on a Friday or Saturday night (minus the "special" occasions like Tiesto at the NATC, etc...).
Speaking of money, however, this is purely Opera getting greedy, thinking that they can make more money with the "hip hop college crowd" coming in on Thursday nights. However, need I remind you that IT'S ING SUMMERTIME? "College night..." during the summer...riiiiiggghhhhhttttt. |
