I think it's cute how you're the Guv expert today... :p

Couldn't I argue that Spin Saturdays at Guv are a "for sure party" because of Mark?. The guy built that night up from scratch, and has kept it consistently banging because of how he plays to that room. Whether or not you like his song choices is irrelevant, the fact that he knows what the room wants is what matters.

I have been there for events or to see others, when MO has been in the main room. And I will always check it out, for like 10 mins. And then carry on with my night.

I've had this discussion with many actual true partiers and I can honestly say I don't know anyone who would flip a switch at MO today. You could argue that he has built a Saturday night there, that's fine. I've always evolved with house music, the scene, the musical trends etc. And consistently I find myself being let down by MO.

+1

i feel the same way about the orange room. i do not like urban music at all but i dont go parading around telling the world those djs are because they arent. they fill the orange room so they are doing a proper job at it.

MO serves a purpose. He is a good opener, AND fills the club by himself. Why would he "go home".

I agree that no one that I know will go just for an MO night. Unless it's the time that he is playing pure classics. But come on Katy, you are being way harsh right now for no reason.

You weren't even at the party, how do you know anything?

I understand that you have been disappointed by MO but did you really go in with some expectations everytime. Like you were waiting for the sky to open.

Plus, this is a picture thread for the Canada Day event. Maybe a separate thread could be written on this topic?

To each their own....

MO's guv sets are not for me really anymore. That being said, the few times i have caught him outside of the guv its been a totally different experience.... his set at footwork a few summers back for BUMP was INSANE and his sets on Beats Ahoy are always good and much more suited to my tastes then his main room sets. Maybe check him out on one of the boats or another venue and see what you think?

Can you stop insulting me? Thanks. and as I said, he should have retired as a trance DJ, and taken his name with him. I LOVED MO trance. the best of the best.

This is a music forum and we discuss our opinions on the scene and music. I'm sorry if I was too harsh for you. I'm not trying to be vindictive, I'm simply stating my opinion of him as a house DJ and really how disappointing he has become.

One question: What have you done for trance lately that gives you the right to criticize a guy with a 30+ year career in the business?

I may not go to a tonne of parties since that's not my thing, but I have a music library that is comparable to many DJ's, mainly since I got them from many DJ's along the way and one thing that remains constant is that MO plays such versatile music for so many events. His ability to do this is unprecadented. I would love to see Tiesto play a progressive house set or techno set, oh wait, he thinks prog house sucks :P, but MO on the other hand can play those types as well as trance.
Name more than 5 DJ's who have 1. built a weekly event, 2. been playing for 30+ years and still draw a huge crowd, and 3. can play every genre and make a party happen.

I really dont understand why you're getting angry at MO for not appeasing your "evolved" musical taste. He's there to play a whole variety of people, most of whom know nothing about the music or the current trends. Do you expect him to play like Burridge or something?
