Don't take it the wrong way. I didn't say he was disconnected... he just appears that way with the way he's constantly leaning over to the laptops... more so than glancing at the audience. At least that's what I have a lot of in the footage. His set was sick, I must admit.

Also, I don't know how many know this, but each tune he plays automatically changes his Facebook and Twitter status to reflect the name of that tune. Pretty cool.

I can. His set at CZ few months back was eye popping. This is because he was playing at CZ, where he didnt have to worry about catering to a large crowd of Z103 types that claim to "love house".... yet if you were to mention Mr Fingers they'd think your talking about a super hero.....

Mark Oliver IS guvernment, and always will be. He can play there as long as he wants to in my opinion. Guv would NOT be the same without his presence.

Most ppl have issues with the main room at Guv not because they think the music is bad in there, but, because it's full of skasians. It's the crowd that's disappointing, NOT the Dj. I'm used to being molested on the dancefloor by them and know how to deal with them, but there's a lot of ppl that are completely turned off by it, and avoid that room because of it. I still have a great time at Guv on reg. MO Sat. nights, and I can tell he appreciates the ppl in the crowd that are still there for him, and haven't abandoned him for whatever reason.

He deserves unconditional respect, and I am actually shocked to hear there's ppl out there that don't agree with that. I go to Guv on regular Sat. nights enough still to know that he doesn't just play house in there. He still plays trance (new and old), progressive, tech house, u name it. He's probably the only DJ I know that can pull off a mix-match set like that the way he does.

He also knows how to open and close for DJs like no other. MO closing for SASHA on Halloween....when was that...'07? If you couldn't see him in the booth, you would have thought Sasha was still playing. It was impressive to say the least.

P.S. I still love ya MissK :) you're entitled to your opinion for sure.

okokok..... I'll admit I did come off malicious. Sorry if I offended anyone. To be quite honest, I was a lil cranky. I'm sorry.

its not us that needs an apology... mark is the one that you should apologize to.

well no, because me apologizing doesn't change my opinion of him. I personally, don't like him, and have cause reason.

Through my post I realized that although I have beef, many people respect him and those are the people of which I feel bad for offending.

Even if I got brutally insulted back along the way

well, yes, without going into too many details. he's cocky, his attitude makes me wana puke, and it was portrayed perfectly in that picture.

You know how someone's personality can completely deminish their credibility as a person. That's MO.

this has probably affected my opinion of his current music taste. But not completely, I still feel his house beats aren't anything to get excited about, or even dance to.

How many of you can actually say you've enjoyed a MO set in the past 3 years?

1. you'd be surprised how a picture can catch a person unaware.

if you saw a person at a party all the time, and you know that person was having a good time, but the only photo of that person has him frowning.

does this mean someone who saw this photo and didn't go to that party should think this person had a bad time? photos can be misinterpreted in many ways

2. I've only talked to MO a few times, and yes. I do think he comes off as a very... distant and snobbish if you don't know him. That is, until he actually talks to you, and then he's pretty cool guy to talk to IMO.

We all have our quirks, and MO just comes off as a very quiet and distant person at first impression, IMO.

3. Your distaste of a person's music shouldn't colour your distaste of a person's character, which I think is unfair.

4. I have enjoyed few MO sets last few years. He's off and on a lot, but I find that when he plays a warm up set, it's very subdued because warm up DJs don't play banging before headliners.
I think if you see MO playing headliner set, he's better than as a warm up DJ.

also, quite a few headliners have "maximum bpm" requirements in their rider for whomever is opening for them. that would explain some opening sets being more boring than others (which people tend to whine and bitch about how the dj sucked but its not their fault).

good warm up DJs shouldn't be affected by bpm. unless you can't play below 125bpm lol.

Just so were clear, I wasn't judging MO based on his 'distant and snobbish' persona. My personal interactions with MO have instated my opinion of him as a person. This isn't to say, some people may be friends with him and see another side. Or respect him based on many wicked trance closing sets he used to do.

The way I came off with my opinion is my only acknowledgment of regret. The reason I came to these conclusions are valid.
