you sir, have NO idea what you are talking about, or any idea of how law works.
unless you have been CONVICTED, there is nothing on any record. |
Sure, I had 17 parking tickets in court, waiting for a court date. Went to register a new car and renew, what a suprise! I had to pay every single one of them so I can drive my new car.
The system is f*****, just pay the fee if you want to park or find other ways around it as I have and be sneaky...

that is factually incorrect, and if this did actually happen as you're describing you could easily have it waved by asking for the manager of whatever dildo you had to deal with over this issue. its simply illegal. |

wrong. it must be properly affixed to the car.
every case i've argued where it WASN'T the windshield has been thrown out. case law ftw. |
Not really... I can just rip the ticket up throw it in the garbage and say it was never on my car. They are going to take the officers word not yours. |

i don't know who told you that you have to pay but its simply illegal.
what i was referring to was going over the head of the person you spoke with about renewing your plates, etc. becuase it would have had to have been a person.
i'm not saying fight the legitimacy of the tickets there and then; i'm saying the application of presumed guilt is illegal. you deal with THAT at the time of renewal, etc. its not even about parking per se for the matter, its about the fact you haven't been convicted of anything, HTA related or municipal. |

Me wrong? You just proved me right. First you said windshield, now you're saying "must be properly affixed to the car".
What personally happened to you does not state the law, so stfu. |

city bylaws.
said books can be readily obtained in most city libraries.
believe me i've taken the time to look these things up. i enjoy going to court! |
Yes well I used to as well until it began to cost me 10x the cost of the ticket in lost wages...
Does the police service have their "rules and regs" in the library as well???
I was talking more about them than parking enforcement... |

because, for one, many of the parking signs that adorn our lovely streets do not actually pertain to any law on the books.
example: there is no law stating that past a NO PARKING sign you cannot park. instead the bylaws actually state that you cannot park closer than 3m to any intersection. you are perfectly legally entitled to park in such a place, sign or no sign.
now tell me how you feel when you know that the signs we have posted actually are legally erroneous?
and now tell me how you feel when you know parking officers ticket according the signs, NOT the actual law?
and finally, if there was an actual reason to pay for parking, other than simple revenue generation, i'd comply. but there isn't - its there to make money, pure and simple. |
Of course its there to make money....so is everything else in this world. If someone parks in a pay parking spot....you pay for it...if you don't, expect to be ticketed for not paying or get your vehicle towed.
There are also several parking infractions that no signs are required. (Park longer than 3 hours,Park more than 30cm from curb, Park 3 metres of fire hydrant, Park between 2am-6am Dec 1 to Mar 31, Park left wheels to curb).
Parking is not allowed in places to help keep the flow of traffic going. Yes, its also there to make money....but I would rather people who disobey the law help support the city's needs then everyone else having to by increased taxes and other methods. |

There is a sign or should be one at every entrance to the city that states the rules for over night parking. This is how they get around the sign issue. They will argue that you should have read the sign when entering toronto. The secret is to find an access to toronto where they forgot to post a sign and then say you entered from there.
Its sneaky and wrong for them to do it this way... but hey its toronto! |

to be fair....its not just toronto....any city has parking bylaws that probably 90% of the people don't know about. |
