I bet most people also don't think to ask why they've been let go and what they could do to change/improve for the next job. But yeah I guess that would mean taking responsibility for getting fired in the first place. |

when i got let go at my last job (first time i've ever been officially fired from a job, i was shocked lol) i definitely wanted to know why and we had a big discussion about it. he was an awesome guy and i really enjoyed working for him but the job was definitely for someone who has a 4 year degree or 10+ years experience, and he admitted to taking a chance with me because he really liked my enthusiasm and personality, etc... he told me that it wasn't that i was "dumb" or anything, he just knew it was a very high stress job for one person to manage and that he has contemplated several times having 2 people working for him instead of one.
in the end, it was a blessing in disguise. i loved my boss and the people i worked with, but the workload was extremely heavy and stressful and i guess i couldn't hang.
although i DID find out from one of the employees i shared work space with that he brought in his sister-in-law to work for him after me, so that made me wonder if he just wanted to nicely get rid of me to help out a family memeber. i know his sister-in-law was also a paralegal because i used to call her and ask her questions from time to time when i was working for him. |
