All DJs at Circus will play songs created by those trance DJ/producers currently among the top 10 DJs in the world (according to the DJ Mag Top 100 poll). Circus DJs will play songs by Armin, Tiesto, Pvd, Ferry Corsten, etc... that were created during any part of their careers. For example, "Out of the Blue" (1999) and "We Belong" (2008) by Ferry Corsten are OK.

The retro thing is something you see happen in diff cities every couple of years. Always something cool about them, just have to be sure to keep the cheese in the crates (ie. While DJ Sammy's tracks were awesome back then, just too cheesy these days to even go bakc and play that one...though I bet I'd prob go nuts lolz)
As far as the TOp 10 DJ night, the Top 100 Djs poll is about DJing, not producing. And if you did a whole night based around a core group of producers, someone gonna keep a tracklist so tracks aren't played over and over again by the different DJs?? And the sound is going to get old fast. And if you play a lot of random new tracks from a producer with their old tracks, the sets are just goign to be all over the place. You really do either have to be super careful or chunk the different eras of music into blocks to be safe.
A cool sounding concept at first glance, but I just see everything having a very, very high risk of being a mess musically. |
