| Am I the only one who got annoyed by the over-hyping of the unproven Oudin? I've nothing against her, and like to see young athletes break through...but her box wearing the 'Believe" t-shirts just made them look obnoxious and foolish when she crashed. All it does is add on unnecessary pressure and attention on Oudin at the end of the day, and a 17 year old underdog in the quarters doesn't need anymore of that. Maybe its just the word thats annoying...too much of a religious overtone |

| Oudin was overhyped because American tennis is a joke at the moment aside from the Williams sisters, and they needed someone like this to come and create a story. |

sometimes i wonder if that's why justine retired at number 1. i enjoy tennis as a whole but honestly the inconsistency across the board annoys me. it wouldn't be bad seeing someone lose if their opponent beat them but more times than not lately players defeat themselves....

really...the first set was just a ridiculous, i felt for soderling. would have liked to see him squeak out that tie-break but roger's just too good. it half ass watched this because i knew what the eventual outcome would be though. |

i felt Soderling really did have federer at the ropes and was swinging at him hard. it's just that federer picked it up another level in the 4th set tiebreak, and Soderling didn't have an answer for his serves and slices. a good test for Federer as he's going to be doing the 2 in 2 days this weekend against some stiff competition, but it looks like Federer is going to win this one again.
As for the women's side, out of the 4 women in the majors, i think Serena's going to win (again ...), but i am rooting for Wozniacki to sneak by and win the tournament. she has a lot ahead of her. |
