-Id fire at least half of the meter maids and simplify parking restrictions

-Id rescind silly bylaws like not allowing music in parks etc. Instead, lIke central park there would be designated quiet areas and activity areas. Also, why should you need a permit to get a wedding picture taken?

- Id cut spending and grants on things like arts programs. These are great things to have but not when the city is broke and cant even fill in potholes.

- Next round of contract talks would see wages equal to the private sector, or if not possible, contracts out to the private sector.

-Id automate the TTC like in New York and eliminate the need for $100,000 per year fare collectors

- Streetcars would be phased out in favour of bus service and eventually subways

- I would make LRT in the suburbs happen but it would be real LRT trains instead of slow cumbersome streetcars. What a half assed idea as it is now!!

- Id allow the private sector to help in massively improving the subway and rapid transit infrastructure with measures such as advertising, private/public line development and fare structures etc

-bike lanes would be separate and use right of ways such as rosedale valley, the lakeshore, allies, parks and side streets. Major roads should not have capacity diminished for the sake of a bike every 5 minutes.

- No more condos would be allowed at the expense of other buildings until all empty spaces downtown are filled. Why should we tear down perfectly good buildings for a condo when there is an empty parking lot right next to it?

why don't you run on that platform?

Have fun fighting their union. I'm sure the same, massive concessions that made Miller so unpopular would be great for your approval rating. The same applies to the unionized fare collectors.

Great. Who needs culture anyway? I'm sure the less fortunate people in the city have no need for grants either.

I'm not saying Miller was perfect but you guys are just as guilty of pandering to one side of the spectrum as he is.

Yep.

if that douche Adam Vaughan runs for mayor, it's a sign of the apocalypse and it becomes our collective duty to rise up together and ruin his campaign by whatever means necessary.

However i was watching CP24 and they were interviewing him, and they had asked if he was going to run and he said no for various reasons ... so hopefully he sticks to that ...

Toronto desperatly needs a right wing mayor in a MAJOR way. So much needless spending, it is completely ridiculous. 35% more spending since Miller took over. And the city is still in terrible shape, some would argue even worse shape. People find comfort in having choices made for them and unfortunalty this progression of state control has cost all levels in of government in Ontario taxpayers money.

We are in the middle of a recovery from a terrible recession. Now is the time to start encouraging consumer spending and fizzle out government needless spending. That way there is no need to increase taxes to make up for all the additional spending during the recesion by saving money by making the appropriate cuts. Instead of funding needless programs people should have the choice to support those programs privatly if they are so passionate about them.

Personally I could give two s about alot of the social programs our tax money goes to, so why should I be stuck paying for it? There are horrible inefficencies in all levels of government funded programs and services. And I am saying this as a government employee, a unionized government employee none the less.

i'll vote for whoever promises to tear down the gardiner and continue investing city's money in public transit

It's interesting that aflyonthewall's residential property tax rate numbers went mostly ignored... are those numbers wrong? Are they excluding something that would paint the proper picture of reality?
