Tiesto [Day 3] Short review.

Someone else beat me to it on the Day 2 review... but it truly was garbage.
12 Year olds all over the place, especially on people's shoulders'? Electro the majority of the night?
Sound blowing out at around 1:20am, leaving it sounding fuzzy the entire night... couldn't even make out some songs if I didn't know the bassline.
Not sure about anyone else, but that's not the Tiesto I remember playing Hammerstein Ballroom in '07.
Pure mainstream garbage aimed at 12 year old kids. |

I thought I was the only one who noticed about the sound blowing:mad::confused:
The track-list was a complete mess , one good track here and there but no flow, I kept waiting for him to redeem himself the last two hours like he always does but it never happened. NOTHING COMPARE TO HAMMERSTEIN 07 and NYE. Crowd was loving every second of his show singing along, clapping and putting their arms in the air, :o :o :o :stongue: so maybe there is something wrong with me :conf:
I don't try to be an ass and sound stuck up but i think the good old days of TRANCE are over and it saddens me to say it:( Tiesto , Ferry , Armin , PVD are all playing mostly commercial stuff in their sets and guess what??? the new generation LOVES IT and they are more popular and making good $$$ out of it so they are not interested in going back and play those great trance records that we couldn't id. It makes mad because sometimes I don't enjoy myself in parties like this cherishing and thinking about those good sets at Roxy , Exit , Twilo , even Crobar and Spirit:mad: :( |

You're right mate, that's why I stopped seeing him after Crobar. Unfortunately the new generation is more bizarre than I thought..and we all know that there is little good will left in the cash cow industry to make a few veterans happy.
Oh by the way, I am new to this forum. Looking forward to sharing my thoughts and comments with you trance lovers :toocool: |

| looking at the reviews and TL, i think friday was the best, and sat seems worst of all 3 nights, and i heard he just played 4.2 hours. tl looks pretty much same. |

I went last night and was disappointed about something wrong with the sound around 1:30. The vibe wasn't the same to me at that point and left awhile later. I was hoping the sound would come back and Tiesto would draw me in with great tracks. Never really happened though.
Not a bad set by Tiesto, but didn't blow me away last night. Most of the crowd really seemed to be into it though. Nice venue and the visuals were the best that I've seen in a long time if ever. I felt like I was at a Tiesto in concert show. Tiesto himself seemed really into it too. |

Yup. Sound went out at ~1:20, and I was pissed. Sounded like Sh*t. But no one else seemed to notice and Tiesto played it off like nothing was wrong. Saddens me as well tho... as time goes on, trance isn't what it used to be years ago. Back at Hammerstein '07, the crowd was INSANE! Never got a vibe like that from any show... hands waving, girls on shoulders the entire night, everyone screaming and jumping. The commercial stuff now-a-days is really a let down. The new generation is evolving into deadmau5-electro-loving-MGMT sing-a-longs... |

| Trance is not dead. I dont understand why ure looking at a bunch of 40 year old DJs about 10 years past their prime. Theres a ton of incredibly talented DJs on di.fm alone. This music should not be about IDOLIZING DJs, so tet go of Tiesto, Armin and the rest of assclowns, theyre just making money off of your ignorance. |

You're totally right !! There is a lot of good new talent out there but like a lot of people said in another thread there is also a lot of tracks being released lately. I wouldn't say I'm being ignorant by going to see tiesto , if anything i'm being stupid for keeping faith he would play an amazing set like back in the days.:stongue:

| I dont really understand where all of you are coming from on this. Last night was 10th time seeing Tiesto (Miami, NYC, Boston, Vegas, etc) and he played one of his hardest sets I've seen, he played maybe 3 or 4 of your so called commercial tracks but other than that he absolutely ripped it...the crowd was mental! and you really had to try and listen for the sound flaw around 130 it wasnt that different at all...I think you guys complain way too much and try to over dramatize your experience...he ripped it, all 11 people i was with agree, end of story, my only problem was that he stopped so early |
