i was thinking about the ring when i saw this one too.

yeah i wasn't laughing at the content of it; per-se; as though the idea of being spooked from the movie and not being able to sleep....just the way you typed it and i can imagine some of my friends saying the same thing and it made me chuckle

There was some hype about it being one of the scariest movies around, so I watched the original version...
Acting was bad, I felt like punching Micah in the face all trough the movie and it was not scary at all.
It had great buildup of suspension, but it never really took off. And I got to add that all the "oh there is only this one guy that can help us and he is in europe" and "oh there is some in angry demon tormenting us, lets stay in our house and wait and it might just go away" bull kept making it even more annoying.

back to topic this movie was alright, completely forgettable, but it did have me a bit tweaked the first time i saw it. u wanna see a good demon movie watch the exorcist. still, i wish i could turn $15k in $62m :rolleyes:

I really enjoyed it because it in a way harkened back to what I think all horror films should be about which is less gore and more use of sounds and practical effects.

The only thing that I absolutely hated what was the lunge at the camera at the end. That was so damn cheesy and pointless. Didn't fit the tone of the entire film at all.
Would've rather they kept it with them just screaming at the end. Leave it up to our imagination.

Ok, so I turned off the lights, put on my headphones and watched it alone tonight. I zoned right in, only me and the movie. I have real easy to get engulfed totally by a movie to the degree where I can forget even breathing.
I gotta be honest, whenever it got night time I would get tense. I was scared...
I didn't know anything about the movie, only heard the title and it was a "scary" movie. No trailers or spoilers or anything. Apparently it was the original ending with her sitting by the bed and police etc.
