| One of the points of anti-discrimination legislation was to try and speed attitudes along by forcing people together. If people are forced to work or live together, they can start to get along better, even if they start out with prejudices against one another. One of the first successes in U.S. integration was the drafted military in WWII, legally compulsory of course. |
