Oh ya, always plea "not guilty!!!!" don't plea guilty with explanation.

well, if I plea "Not Guilty" and then lose the case, I'll end up getting both points and fine!

If i pleas guilty with an explanation, they might reduce one or another

or am i wrong?

I'd plead not guilty ... but it's going to be tough with 40 km/h over, from my experience. There was no pre-hearing?

I've had the ticket reduced to 35 km/h from 45 km/h, so it saved me some money since the fine was less, but it didnt help much with the insurance. This was done pre-trial. I actually had someone from "ticket break" represent me in court, but they screwed big time as they agree to lowering the ticket before the trial, and before they actually got to inform me. I got my money back though, I paid them $500.00. I'd recommend someone in Kitchener from Ticket Deffenders, this lady works miracles, but It might be too late as the trial is tomorrow. Also, the money back option is not a legal option anymore.

A helpful person ... and a friend indeed. That's what i was aiming for. Hats what happened with my previous ticket, and since this is for only 15 km/h I don't think a judge, or a cop will waste their time in court finding me guilty of speeding. ONLY thing i am worried about, and could use an informed advice is, COULD THE OFFICER KEEP AND SHOW HIS EVIDENCE OF ME GOING 147 KM/H IN COURT, EVEN THOUGH ON THE TICKET HE WROTE 115 KM/H.

Would that back fire agains him, hence he wouldnt use that as proof, OR can a cop legally use his discretion and give me a ticket for 15 km/h though i was 47 km/h over? Without breaking the law himself? Anyone know?

I think you should go for sure... 1st the cop might not show up.. so its always worth going just for that. 2nd... I don't think the cop can change his mind about what he recorded(they can't charge you twice for the same offense), i think the only risk you really have is if he pulls you over again you won't get a break.

and... if the wrong amount is written in on the ticket... then ... i'd go FOR SURE... cause unless I just didn't understand what you said... a mistake like that might just make the ticket void... honestly.. yeah you were lucky.. yeah you're grateful.. but those feelings should have nothing to do with whether or not you go to court.. the cop will go or not go regardless of what you decide... and hey... if he's there.. say thanks again?

how about just accept your punishment for doing something you know was wrong....its the attitude of people like you and most people in this thread that's wrong with our society....no one can take responsibility for their actions.....I honestly believe our society is bound to crumble because of people not taking responsibility for their actions.

Exactly my reasoning ... I don't see what I have to lose, though I still wanted to hear what other people think or know about showing up in court and fighting a ticket after a break was given. So thanks to everyone for the input, including the pedophile lover :-)

The actual ticket, of which the officer has a copy of too, states my total payable fees and fines are $52.50. On the cheque he provided, which I can use to make my payment and mail to the Ontario Court Of Justice in Kitchener, the amount, written by him is $110.00. The only reason i see why this would be is because he perhaps had it written out for someone before already, and gave it to me by mistake? OR he didn't want me to pay the fine, or not by using a cheque? I don't even know if that makes sense lol
