lol our society is bound to crumble from a lot of other things before not taking responsibility for our actions brings us down.... and I understand exactly your reasoning.. and you are essentially right... but I mean.. there are so many laws and things screwing you over most of the time... people lie and cheat and steal everyday... I think fighting a ticket isn't that big of a deal... |

he probably made a mistake when writing the mail out cheque or what not.
if you want to just pay it off (which is what i would do) and easiest, go to the online paytickets site (should be provided on the back of the ticket) and pay it off there.
i guess if you really want to fight it you can go to attendance meeting but i am fairly certain that they will not budge at all from 15km/h. and if you want to go even further, you can take it to court and see if the cop doesn't show up but most likely he will and then you will end up having to pay it regardless and you just wasted time/taking day off work to pay a ticket that could've been done a while back and with no lost time/cost. |

You're wrong
The cop and the prosecutor will have a record of your original speed, if you go on trial they could potentially raise the speed to the original charge if you're found guilty, which you probably will be.
It's cop's word against yours and unless you have some proof you will lose. Every single cop writes down in his notes the circumstances when you get pulled over in close detail. Even your conversation sometimes.
The only chance you have is if the cop does not show to court which again rarely happens, they get paid to do so. You could probably argue the fine amount if it was a mistake on his side but I don't know how that will work. Also for some help check out a thread from few months back, too lazy to search. |

I am telling you from someone that got a ticket dong 142 in a 100 in cobourg with 4 demerit points.... you got off easy and take what you got.
My ticket was $340 plus $475 for my paralegal, its costing me a lot for something i probably shouldn't have been doing. Nonetheless, take what you get and just drive smarter. |

Well, FIRST of all, im very curious ... how do you know all of this?
2nd ... i find it very hard to be believe the cop will come to court and say, OH he went 47km/h over, BUT i decided to say he went 15 km/h. So right there, his word doesn't mean too much, as it seems to be changing.
3rd ... YOU CANT GET CHARGED WITH ANYTHING UNLESS THERE IS EVIDENCE. EVIDENCE IS NOT JOGGED DOWN NOTES. EVIDENCE is recording my speed with a gun at the time, so unless he has that recording, his notes say 15 km/h over as they do on my ticket. |

If you take this to court the prosecutor will likely raise the charges to 47 over. This frequently happens to people who attempt to weasel out of tickets. They would probably make you aware of this beforehand and give you the opportunity to leave the courtroom in shame. Youre lucky to receive 15 over. |

He doesn't have to show you his radar gun stating that you were going that speed.
Towards the bottom right hand side of your yellow ticket there should be a box that says 'CODE' check if there's a 'R' written in it. If so that means he reduced the ticket for you and it will surely be in his notes if you wanna take it to court. Do yourself a favour and just pay the ticket. You got off easy. There is such thing as giving warnings or a lesser charge so he can say originally you were going 47 over. |

Look don't be so naïve, if you need professional help maybe you should call a paralegal. What I was saying is from my personal experience. |

In the courtroom you will meet privately with the prosecutor and they will offer you some kind of reduced charge. Its usually pretty fair and if you think so just plea guilty. |
