So, if you could stop a nuclear device from blowing up NYC into pieces, and all you had to do was give your life for it, you still wouldn't do it? Why not? Is your life more important than that of hundreds of others? |

Oh you're a devious one.
Blast radius of what? 5 miles? Maybe 15 mile shockwave and 20 mile contamination? Would take like 3 hours to get that far in NY traffic! |

my dream consisted of a nurse working with Locke from LOST who was in a jail. she gave him a key or something and he had a bunch of boxes of blue grenades. he then pulled a bullet out of his ass and started trying to get the gunpowder out.
someone else set off an explosive on the wall of the jail, and all the inmates climed up the wall and escaped.
then, i was driving a car on a highway. the gas pedal worked but the brakes didn't. (this always happens when im driving in my dreams)
next part was sitting in a movie theater with my friends watching some movie with Brad Pitt playing Tyler Durden (except it wasnt Fight Club)
the movie ended and we walked into some music event where we had to write down a vote for a favorite track of the several producers that were there signing autographs. I remember writing a track and it was the Schodt Remix.
cool story bro |

first of all, i personally feel that dreams only "mean" something if you want them to, or if you perceive that they should have some meaning in relation to your life. so yeah, if it affected you either positively or negatively, it means *something* to you- so think about why it does, and what you would do instead to alleviate that situation/feeling.

your dreams consist of many random things that go through your concious mind while awake and living life...and then later when your body shuts down and you're sleeping, it's like your mind just randomly picks out little thoughts here and there that you had while awake and mashes them all together. i mean think of movies you've seen, situations you've daydreamed about, actual situations that happened, etc...millions of things just packed in there in the back of your mind that you're not aware of and then they come out at night by no choice of your own.

that's not the only theory on dreams, though it's one of them (and seems to make the most sense for most people in most situations). the other two are that dreams are a vehicle for wish fulfillment, and a vehicle for conflict resolution.
i've had a lot of vivid dreams lately, some are obviously wish fulfillment, and some just seem like nothing more than entertainment. for example, i had a dream that half of the crew of "the office" teamed up with me against michael scott during a nuclear fallout just the other day. totally random but there was a big, complicated plot and everything (that actually made sense). lol
and who would i *die* for? i think that's an unfair question and while some people can say hypothetically what they think they would do, i think when the situation arose they may do otherwise (totally dependant on the situation though). a better one would be, "who would you risk your life for?" i would risk my life for my best, closest friends, my SO, and my kids. and i suppose any "greater good" scenario, again, depending on the situation. |

| Dreams can be premonitions, but more often than not they are allegory's of your subconscious mind trying to work through emotional issues in your conscious mind. I'm going to presume this person was going to fall and you didn't pull them up. I'm also going to presume it's your significant other. This may represent that if she falls away from you, you won't pull her back. Or some other similar allegory if it wasn't falling. |
