they kill the whole families together in one big blood stew.. mama dolphin getting axed in front, while baby dolphin watches in trauma from behind getting soaked in mama's blood..
WTF IS THE POINT OF THIS?
Is this tradition related to religion or ancient culture?

Its an annual festival in Denmark..

This is very misleading propagandist stuff. First of all, Denmark has little if anything to do with any of this. The images of the groups of whales being slaughtered on the beaches are from the Faroe Islands, which is an autonomous region of the Danish kingdom with significant home rule. Second of all, the Faroese method of whaling is actually very sustainable and practical. There are about 10-ish hunts like these carried out each year resulting in a total catch of less than 1,000 whales. The hunts are community activities, strictly controlled by law, and the meat is distributed free to the members of the community. It is an important and traditional part of their livelihood and the hunters bear great respect for their prey. As for the blood, killing animals is a bloody business, no matter how it's done. The animals are not butchered alive, as some commenters have suggested. They are slaughtered on the beaches (they are not "drowning in the blood of their own pod/family"!) by slicing through their spinal cord which results in death within anywhere from half a minute to a few minutes. Then they are butchered (aside from the atrocity of it, imagine how difficult it would be to butcher a live whale flailing around - the suggestion is ludicrous!). If you were to visit one of these beaches a few hours after the hunt, you would be hard pressed to find any evidence of it. Everything is used and the area cleaned up afterwards.

China too has nothing to do with skinning dogs alive, skinning and killing is done by Chinese people who are autonomous with significant home rule and have nothing to do with China.

Wow, I thought this was once in one place annual event, so they do the same thing in 10 different places at different times? Nice.

This Faroe Island is how big? Bigger than Japan? They kill more than Japan. 1000 whales can feed whole Japan. They kill for fun, for festivity, greed the main participants are young teens, who show that they are adults and mature.... have power over these dolphins.. and can rule.. Everyone is participating in one way or the other, killing or looking at the cruelty “supporting like a spectator”.

Ya but buthchers dont bath babies with mama's blood before killing them. Their are more humane and painless way to kill. This way is sad, traumatic and henious. Go skin mama dog alive in front of puppy before killing the puppy.

Here is a vidio for you, checkout 4.45 minute when they slice open a mama dolphin and a live toddler pops out and they quickly kill her too:

Good to know that, so did the nazis did.

I guess we can call the genocide in Africa as an all year round festival celebrating something awesome

Behind something this bad ass
there is usually some amusing, hypocritical relationship:
A 500HP+ boat designed to blast around the earth masquerading as "environmentally friendly" is as comical as a bunch hippies who like to pretend they're pirates under the guise of "sustainability".

So, by your logic, the US is responsible for that gay guy that was murdered by decapitation in Puerto Rico? Please.

I believe the Japanese hunt Fin Whales.. which are endangered. Also I just don't like it when people use dodgy tactics to avoid complying with international law, and all for the sake of national face-saving or something equally weak. So yeah got no problem with sea shepherd..
Also apparently they've apparently sunk a few ships in their time.
