so what did you guys think?

schossow was good, loved his gladiator theme rework/intro.

guetta was cool, he got the crowd going but wayy many buildups and everything sounded the same really.

markus was sick, he started off very heavy but i started feeling sick so i had to leave at 3. cant wait to hear the world tour next week.

he did play nothing at all(heard it when i was walkin to car), but im glad it was the marco v - unprepared mashup which is much better.

also played a few new tunes i didnt recognize.

I hope everyone had as much fun as I did. Got there to catch the end up Swedish Egil's set, heard LED There Be Light and I Will Be Here in line (which was quick and efficient, much better than monster) and then caught a bet of Marcus' set, pretty impressed by what I saw. Entered the Sports Arena and caught Kaskade's set, actually opened up with something besides Move For Me. His set was pretty similar to the other ones I've seen, so if you're a fan of his music you would've liked it.

I personally liked David Guetta more at EDC, and wasn't too impressed with the count down. Markus Schulz blew the roof off the place with all of his hits, I like how he was rocking a dress shirt and vest too lol, and I loved how he ended his set. Does anyone know the name of the second to last song he played, before Do You Dream? This was my second time seeing Markus (first was EDC) and I was throughly impressed, started off his set with some of the more popular vocal tracks (Find Yourself, On a Metropolis Day) and then finished up hitting hard, great crowd interaction too.

The event was set up nicely, the tent had perfect lighting, and even though the Sports Arena would've been better for the main stage, the tent kind of added a nice together feel. A good way to kick off the new year for sure.

How did the rest of you guys like it?

110k people for a NYE party in LA?? You bet your sweet ass.

One of the best productions ever?? Indeed

VIP owns?? Worth every penny.

Reviews:
DNB stage was good, I was only there the first hour

Swedish Egil is starting to gain a reputation as one of the best local DJs, and after last night he's on an alltime high

Marcus Schossow dropped alot of insane tracks, and he was building up and dropping as if he's been doing it for two decades. It was an awesome set.

Digweed played one of the most classic sets I ever heard. I dont know why people were hating but he had the party moving and playing Heaven Scent into the countdown was en awesome.

The countdown: It was fun as hell hearing that many people countdown, and i get chills when I look back on it now.

Guetta: Omfg, that was easily the worst set I ever saw in my life. I was in the VIP and everyone was baffled at the garbage this guy played. I saw him at EDC and he was way better. Who the drops a Lil Jon song at a dance festival? And for the love of god who the hell gave him a microphone. Half his set he was talking. ""I loves this musics. I'm going to play my new single never played before because it is good and you are all love it". In the VIP you can see Markus Schulz giving Guetta a CD and two minutes later the Otherside came on, I think Markus tried to help bail out one of the tiest sets in the history of LA festivals by letting him play that CD. Seriously, this guy blew balls and I wouldnt care if he never played here again. When people are screaming at you to shut the up in the VIP and play your music, that's an alltime low.

Markus Schulz: For every action there is an opposite and equal reaction. What was the tiest set before him turned into the best set I have ever seen live. Markus annihilated the main stage. He played hit after hit after hit. Lost Connection, On a good Metropolis Day, the New World, and so many more. The guy was dressed like a badass, gray vest and white button up. He didnt say anything on the microphone other than thank you. I cant wait till he replays the set on Global DJ Broadcast on Thursday. I'll always cherish Markus Schulz and how he made last night so damn incredible.

Overall, it was the best production and event I ever had been to. I think VIP has alot to do with it, being away from all the loser kandi kids and weirdos and chilling with normal people. Those who didn't go you totally missed out. It was a macro party and will go down in the books.

good review!
LphiESteve
thanks for your 2cents fantasy!

kaskade killed it even though only being there for an hour. i did like guetta more at edc and do agree, he needs to keep the commercial rap at home, i felt like i was at a club. schulz ended the night perfect, tons of energy in his set. check out my youtube.com/lphiesteve for all the vids!
