im not talking about stereo, i loved it when i went for tiga, just saying they should get rid of this stupid concept... but they wont and I know that so that's fine!

People wanted the Stereo return since a year and half whatever, after they complained of the policy without going see the club once. Also, don't want to pay, beeing on the guestlist. So you think owners wants you? no,they want people who have money to spend and people who wants to have fun. People complaining, go once a friday, after you'll see if you want to spend 35$ saturdays without to know who's playing.

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying here.

I went once on a Friday (for Behrouz) and am very happy with my decision to have done so for a DJ I like rather than the odds that have panned out on Saturdays.

I need to share my opinion on this

guys, it's not YOUR stereo... it's a club owned by people who want to make a profit. And from what I saw the 2-3 times I have been there so far is that there is a much needed new crowd... that just wants to have a good time...regardless of who the DJ is.

It almost feels as if now that many of the old stereoheads do not go there anymore it's easier for newbies to appreciate the club. Maybe I’m wrong but that’s what it feels like, that’s the impression I got from looking at all these new and younger-looking people having fun…

Business-wise, I think the new concept is a great strategy. Let’s be honest, the concept of booking the same 5-6 tribal DJs, letting everyone in for free, and losing money on any other night hasn't been very successful for the past 10 years.

So I think this is a clear message to the nostalgic Stereoheads complaining about the new concept :
Stereo is no longer targeting you!

AMEN!! Are you god? seriously, what a logical post!
If people still asking dj's like d-formation,vibe or whatever dj's who came already 10293847 times, face it and if stereo want to announce them they will,if not step out of your nostalgy.

The owners were smart to plan for the fact that many (most) of the first generation of Stereo heads wouldn't be coming out anymore, and adjusted their business model accordingly. They are using their position to try to correct what they see as a culture that is being led down the wrong path. I applaud that. My personal position stands, but I really respect the risk they are taking to do some good in this scene.

Of course, but you have to expect some resistance, especially when for a while there their ad campaign literally was "My Stereo"

Instinct, Passskal shared his thoughts clearly and with maturity. See how it's done?

spot on.

it may not be a concept that personally i'm happy with but i've come to accept it. as like most of you on these boards, i am a bit picky with what i want to hear on a given night, but the vast majority of people aren't as picky as we are. all they care about is that the music is good, whether it be tech, prog, house, whatever.

most nights have been busy, and that's the only sign they need to continue with their concept. from a business standpoint, it just makes sense.

Mr Moss
would a calderone night get promo under these new rules?
oldskool94
nope. He was there for Halloween (a Sat) and no promo. Several friends were pissed as they would have gone out with us had they known it was Vic.
