| Well, I coulda told you he still had his Virus. It's all over his tracks. Doesn't mean it can't piss him off all the damn time... |

fine then - practice what u preach - show off your mad logic skillz, after all - you claim you use it and nothing else for your productions. Besides, why advertise a product you're obviously unhappy with. Just a douche thing to do.
my disdain for him is neck to neck as for Tiesto. |

I can understand the frustration with access.. i've had plenty of it myself, the buzz of buying a TI was for me quickly overcome with the frustration of technical difficulties trying to use it in projects (on a PC btw).
I believe the access tech support forums are only visible to registered virus users who have supplied serial numbers so that prospective buyers can't see the sheer volume of problems and unsatisfied users until they've already parted with the cash.
I bought mine second hand for a reasonably good price so i'm not too fussed, it has some good sounds and i've eventually got it to work pretty well, but i still have problems with latency and missing voices and i'm sick of running loops with support. I'm quietly glad i didn't pay for a brand new one, i wouldn't be happy with my experience with it so far for that kind of money (they cost a crapload to get down here in AUS, i saw the polar in a store ticketed at $5200!). |

| I'M not defending virus - I had my share of problems and still do... But, to go on a record, saying how crappy virus is and then go and make a turorial practically hypng it - is at best, two-faced. So many artists gig with pro gear that has logo covered up and here's Sean "Whaaaaaaaaa whaaaaaaaaa virus Sux, do as I say, not as I do" Tyas showcasing it. What an ass. |

True, maybe he'd just had a particularly difficult day with it and felt like ranting tho.. i can sort of understand but at the same time i agree it's a bit unprofessional.
Right now i'm getting "MIDI driver failed, this can happen if you have connected too many usb devices. Also try installing TI software again."
Install everything again.. nothings changed since i used it yesterday, so how does off sound access!? Try writing your buggy en drivers again perhaps. The only USB devices connected are a mouse and the TI so the error message is bull. I have to shut everything down and start up again a couple of times until it works once this happens. |

Does anyone know how many people actually have the virus working without any hiccups?
Anyone have any rough estimates? |

I doubt anyone can honestly say that they have a trouble free virus, unless they use it as a stand-alone, single patch synth. I get pretty decent results by not using the TI function and keeping my multis to 4 patches or less. But it is not possible to say that something in particular will assure a fully trouble free operation.
Virus tries to do too much and flops, which does no service to access. I've been keeping an eye out for virus C for that exact reason - eg classic sound and no glitches. |

In Tyas' defense, he did seem kinda drunk or at least wired in the first video when he trashed Access. He does say that they caught him at a gig ... :p
He was probably just really pissed off at his Virus that day after struggling with it in the studio the weekend before, he was drunk, and they caught him on the spot. He's not wrong that the hype on the Virus overshadows its problems, doesn't mean he has to turn around and sell his one and only physical instrument.
