Lol Jesus. My largest class is 120-30 people, and I thought that was bad. |
I really should take a pic of our lecture halls... they are ing massive! I think the smallest class I had was around 100 people, all the others were definitely 300+ and I know my one class for sure is pushing 450.
It makes meeting people in your classes kinda tough.
EDIT: This is a medium sized classroom:

| Yeah that's how big my stats and research classes are. There are bigger lecture halls though...I had my stats midterm in one of them. Was actually a really sick room. The nursing program isn't very big though, that's why. Only a couple hundred or so students. |

Yea, the number of nursing students we have is about a quarter the number of social sciences students we have, so it's not too surprising that your classes are so much smaller.
Which school are you going to anyway Jenny? U of T? |

no, York. Our nursing program is better, and very well respected. U of T teaches a biomedical curriculum, and nobody practices it.
All of the big hospitals in TO that are part of the UHN use a model of patient care based on Rosemarie Parse's theories, which is what our curriculum is based on. York students are usually at top of the list when it comes time to fill jobs. ;) |

| I can't imagine going back to the classroom and taking notes, listening to lectures, doing group projects, and reading a syllabus. :disbelief |

| I just hate homework. I'm surprised I made it the whole semester maintaining the same level of interest all the way through. I felt myself losing steam the past couple of weeks, but I made it happen. |

Uh no, in my program lectures are not a waste of time. It's very interactive and practical and most of the material that ends up on exams is what the prof has gone over in class. But thanks for your input. |
Do you actually have seperate seminars? When I was at uni, the practical and interactive study was done in seminar groups of about 10-20 people, so that everyone could get a good amount of time with the professor. Trying to do classwork with hundreds of students at once in a big lecture hall sounds like a ty method. |

This was the main lecture theatre I was in this year. In was actually a pleasure to just sit there and marvel at the design.

In fact, the whole building is kind of cool.

haha... yeah I understand; as you're close to the finish line you really have to force it sometimes. My last semester of my college career, the procrastination got out of control. I would cram for huge finals starting at midnight the night before, go strait through till test time at 9:00 am, then go to sleep afterwards. I also wrote a 30 page paper the same way... due on the last day of my last class ever, and began the research/typing process 24 hours before hand. I could never get away with that in the real world now. lol |
