mmm, I'd say get an xbox, ps2 has more games now, but its been out ALOT longer (3 years in october), and it didn't even have any games worth getting until it was a year old, imo if you compare the first 8-9 months of the xbox and ps2 xbox wins hands down
but the best way to decide is to read a few reviews of games out now, and previews of whats coming out, and get what fits your taste
just a little extra pimpage for xbox, a few games coming out ;)
Project Ego
imo, one of THE most have games thats coming to any system, a living world that changes as you age, an rpg that you literally grow up in, you can even raise a family since the game spans your lifetime, and one of the first games to really push what the xbox can do graphically
Panzer Dragoon Orta
update of the saturn classic, a shooter with a bit of a twist, 3D shooting atop a majestic dragon, I personally can't wait for this one :D
theres a few more that look very promising like Brute Force, Spliter Cell, Blinx, and Steel Batallion, and if you gonna be using your console for online play xbox is the way to go
also gamecube might not be a bad choice, I plan on picking one up when metroid is released :)

someone is a schmuck if you use xbox as a dvd player because thats not xbox's primary design obligation...its a console not a dvd player..nuff said...if you cant understand that (which your post indicates) then you arent worthy of a nice dvd player anyway...
and your schpeil about the games being available on xbox too and looking better.....I DONT CARE i was talking about the PS2's graphical capabilities i think those games look pretty damn good on ps2...and i already admitted xbox has better graphics...you seem to be stuck on one point here sir...xbox has better graphics..untill the xbox DOES SOMETHING WITH THEM nobody cares(that project ego looks cool though) ;) :D |

As for good PS2 exclusive games: Grand Theft Auto 3 (Sony has the rights to the GTA series until 2004 I believe), Final Fantasy 10 (11 out in Japan and comes to the US @ the end of this year), Metal Gear Solid 2, Gran Turismo 3, Devil May Cry...oh the list could go on.
Name me some more good XBox games OTHER than Halo and Jet Set Radio Future... Halo this, Halo that...pretty much all I ever hear about XBox.

I see no reason why the games shouldn't play the same .Whicg game was it that you played on xbox that was lagging?? There arent that many baseball games out for game systems these days so developers barely try. I know graphics arent everything in a game but then again, why upgrade to a new system?? Ig grapgics don't mean anything then you will still be happy with your Nintendo NES. Graphics is what makes a game reality. Face it graphics MEAN alot.
Metal Gear Solid Xhas already been confirmed this year and will be better then Metal Gear Soid 2. This is not a sony exclusive.
I am a die hard Xbox fan i will admit that. The onl reason i am a die hard xbox fan because i have owned Sony Playstation 2 and i was fed up with the system breaking on me and sony doing about it. You say Xbox is dying, please show me how.:rolleyes: Grand Theft Auto 3 will be coming out next year and so will Devil May Cry. They will just look better on Xbox.
Other XBox games other then halo and Jet Set Radio Future. :toocool: Lets see, Moto GP, NFL Fever, Metal Gear Solid X,Rainbox six Rouge Spear Raven Shield, DOA 3, Morrowming, Project EGO, Brute Force, Rallisport Challenge, Enclave. The list goes ON AND ON......... You have only heard about Halo because thats pprobably all you ever played. You can have Xbox and Halo and still be happy. :) Now its your turn to name a fuew games for ps2 :stongue: |

The dvd player in Xbox is its primary desighn since all the games that are played on Xbox are A dvd disk :rolleyes: (stupidity) You can get HDTV, Dolby Digital Sound, and unbelievable resoulation through Xbox's dvd player and you will be a schmuck if you spend $500.00 more for a new dvd player with these same features, when you have a quality dvd player infornt of you. We all know everyone is SICK of ps2's fuzzy graphics but thats not why im stuck on one point it just happend that graphics, sound and gameplay mean alot in todays games. And ps2 can barely offer that. |

XBOX may have a few amazing games (eg. Halo, DOA2) but PS2 has more games. XBOX has a few good games when when you compare it to all that PS2 has that are amazing games (FFX, Metal Gear Solid 2, Headhunter, Gran Turismo 3, Tekken 4, Virtua Fighter 4, Time Splitters, Zone Of Enders to name a few) then you can see that PS2 has the advantage in gameplay since it has been around longer. XBOX may have a few games and amazing graphics and Halo which is one of my favourite games but it won't add up to the PS2. PS2 has sold way more than XBOX and they also have tons more amazing gamez on the way. This is like comparing PSX and N64. |

Its Doa3 not Doa2 (doa2 is on the playstation 2). Metal Gear Solid X which i mentioned above is also schedueled for release on XBox, as is Grand Turismo 3. Virtua Fighter is a joke, as is tekken 4 try Doa3. Never heard of headhunter and the rest. Ps2 dose have the advantage because it has been out longer but that just means it will get outdated quicker. Show me were ps2 is outselling Xbox so far you are one of the 5 ot 6 people that said this and never backed up your statement :rolleyes: :rolleyes: Comparing Xbox to ps2 is like comapring Euro cheese to Trance :haha: |

by primary design i mean is that all it does....no its designed to play games.....its not a stand alone dvd player with a remote...blah blah blah you can buy a remote...when you go to best buy and look at dvd players do you see an xbox there...no..and what is with the fuzzy graphics you keep talking about...i havent seen any fuzzy graphics on my ps2...and when evaluating a game...GAMEPLAY IS EVERYTHING not if i can get dolby digital or hdtv...cause if i hate playing the game..why would i want to look at it..and out of all the games i have they are all great to play and look great too...oh yeah xbox is big fat and ugly so ha! :D ;)

You dont see it in best buy because it is a game console. Why would someone want to spend 500 more on a dvd player??? Just dosent add up. The fuzzy graphics im talking about (tekken 4, SSX, Armored core 2 etc ... etc... Gameplay is everything on a game but right under that is sound, and graphics. ARe you telling me that when you play a game on xbox with useing dolby digital the experience isnt better??? Oh please, you might aswell play the game on mute with the ps2. Size and looks dosent matter its not like you bring it ebverywhere you go.

I know that PS2 has sold more, it's been around longer and more people have it than Xbox in my area at least. Don't badger me for statistics unless you can show them to back up your point as well since you just might be the sixth person to say Xbox has better sales with no proof :rolleyes: . Well anyways like I said before this is useless, like comparing PSX and N64 because there are always people on either side of the fence so asking a question like this is basically starting a flame war or will soon. |

PS2 Has better games as of now, but they have no long term plans for expansion like on-line gaming and things like that. Yes, SONY does have the on-line play capibility but you have to buy an external network card (USB) and an external hard drive (USB)...that's the only way you can play on-line.
On the other hand, the XBOX has a built in hard drive and network card and multiplayer is already starting with some of their games. Let XOBX catch up in the games department and XBOX will own PS2, just because of PS2's lack of the multiplayer experience.
BTW, XBOX can play DVD movies...you just have to buy a DVD playback Kit. |
