Damn even worse. Well, I honestly think your phone is defective. Reason being, is that there is a lot of work going on to get Android on my phone (comes with WinMo) and it has some issues like that, but that is because a lot of stuff is still being ported. All kinds of things are broken. My buddy just got the droid a couple weeks ago, and no issues there.
Are you still open to another Android-based device?

i am, definitely, just one that is much more polished and updated
do you have any recommendations? i'm on t-mobile
also, do you have any knowledge of the usb wi-fi devices t-mobile sells for laptops? does it feed off of your data plan? and does the signal work during air travel?

Well, it appears the Google Nexus One has a ton more polish. Much better execution than their previous attempts. Also, it has Android 2.1, so much more feature complete than before. Read this and see what you think. I was pretty set on getting the HTC Leo (HTC HD2) next, but this phone has really caught my eye.
As for the wifi device, I assume you are referring to a data card? They don't use wifi, they actually use the same data connection your phone uses. You can easily turn your phone into a wifi hotspot, so what is the point of even bothering with it? It is an added extra cost that is really unnecessary.

the video recording on the phone is DVD like. the phone comes with a cable that u can connect it to the tv and watch movies off ur phone or watch the videos/pics u clicked with it in 1080i
the only cons are the phone cost me $600 without contract and its a lil bulky. but yeah it serves all my needs as a phone, internet tablet, music/video player, camera, portable gaming device etc.

The N900 and Maemo 5 OS is pretty much the only one I have yet to play with. I did use the N800 a little when it first came out a few years ago. Wasn't bad, but it needed oh so much improvement. It was damn good at the time (2007), but a lot of shortcomings too.

N900 is is perfect its literally a pocket sized laptop, and the Maemo UI is in A. Nokia got everything perfect with n900.
