Really eh? I wanna get myself a new toy. It was going to be the Nexus One but the N900 looks sick too. I used to love Nokia but I'm really disappointed with the E71 that I currently have :(

How long have you had the N900 for? Any bugs I should know about?

HTC is one of the best cell phone manufacturers on the planet. From my experience, the only people that have ever had issues with them are the ones that rooted their OS and probably botched something. I love my G1, it's an amazing piece of equipment. If anyone's on T-Mobile looking to get a new phone, I strongly suggest the G1 if you can still get it...I think they phased it out for the MyTouch thing (essentially the same thing without a physical keyboard).

Yeah I heard they were , still you could always upgrade now to the 900, or wait for the new iPhone. Whatever you do DON'T buy into getsumpoon's review. That dude thought the NeoGeo was good.

i think your giving hte iphone just a little too much credit there.

Its a shame that you have to hack the out of an iphone to get it to do anything.. unjailbroken probably the htc would be better. I'm saying this and i have an iphone.

The nexus one will probably surpass apple iphone.

Better buy some google shares.

You realize I'm agreeing with him, right? Why would I want ANY Nokia? They're terrible.

Well i would say that if you can live without such endlessly helpsful apps like Ifart and Coinflip then the HTC is a better choice :p

I know this, but trying to convince those HTC wads with their ass handsets is an uphill struggle. Glad you've seen the light though :)

a little late on that. should've bought them a month ago :p

and if only i could afford more than 5 google shares :stongue:

Ok so engadget.com has a review up on this thing and from what they've written I'm gonna hold off on buying this thing. Seems like a lot of hype with nothing to really back it up. Google has been hyping up the new 2.1 Android as if it's the "true" iteration of Android but there's no real changes to be found. Is it really that freakin hard to make a decent phone nowadays?

I've ordered mine. I saw the review on Engadget. I would read through the comments, I think they did a better job explaining more detail. If you watch the videos in the review, the reviewer does indeed come off as biased towards the iPhone. They loaded engadget.com only for the browser tests instead of multiple websites. Independent tests on youtube show the Droid beating the iPhone 3GS in browser tests.

No single phone is going to be perfect, just a few come a long that stand out. This one def. does.

The only MAJOR screw-up I see here are the purchase options for existing customers. Customers who qualify for the two year upgrade CAN'T keep their existing plan, HAVE to settle for the 500 min plan, AND have to pay MORE than new customers. And if you have a family plan, sorry, you're outta luck. There is only one option to get this phone subsidized, otherwise its $530. The T-Mobile message boards are goin off with some really pissed off customers. My girlfriend has the unlimited loyalty plan, and there's no reason she should have to switch to the new 500 minute plan. On top of that even though she has not purchased a phone through T-Mobile in 5+ years, and is well out of contract, Google's system said she was not eligible for an upgrade. Just crazy.

So I got the phone, and all I can say is WOW. I was kicking myself for spending the money after I ordered it, but now, it's totally worth it.

Combined with the fact that T-Mobile upgraded its ENTIRE 3G network to 7.2Mbps HSPA overnight yesterday, I just downloaded Hernan Cattaneo's August 2009 mix straight to my SD card while I was at the gym over 3G in about 5 minutes. This phone is ridiculous!

Dolphin Browser enables multi-touch (pinch n zoom JUST like the iphone) and does it VERY well.

Multi-tasking is handled effortlessly, and zooming around webpages is lag-free. Also saw a demo for Flash 10.1 which will be out VERY soon and it looks sick!

My friend is a huge fan of T-Mobile and his G1 and had the same exact issue. He has the unlimited loyalty plan (as do I) and basically existing customers are screwed. He went off BIG time :stongue:

That said, I have no problem waiting for an upgraded version of the Nexus or something even better in the next 2-3 years...I just got my G1 over the summer and I still love it :p

Good to know hear about that Dolphin browser btw, should pick it up for my phone :D

i had the unlimited loyalty plan too, but then i switched to sprint when they wanted me to drop the $150 deductible to get a brand-spanking new replacement of the phone that got stolen from me (a 3-year old htc excalibur) when i instead wanted to upgrade my handset.
