It works... but did you notice dreams are more vivid and memorable in the morning, or is it just me? |

Get 8+ hours of sleep, exercise, get out of bed at the same time every day.
It's not too hard. |
obviously it isnt for you, but just beacuse its "not too hard" for you doesnt mean its the same for others.
i have nothing constructive to add. so i will shut up |

Exactly. The times I feel it the easiest to get out of bed even in the dead of winter is when I have been consistent with my sleep schedule, avoiding alcohol above 2-3 drinks at a time. Ideally I would go to bed by midnight on weekends, as I cant ever sleep past 8am. |
It's sad how true this is. This is really the only way of getting up early with ease every day. Especially on Mondays.
I usually follow this routine when I am extremely busy, but other than that, sacrificing my weekends just so I can avoid an hour or two of discomfort on Monday morning just doesn't seem worth it. :p |

I definitely don't find it hard to get up in the mornings anymore. I am on a pattern of going to be roughly the same time every night and need at least 8 full hours and I am up (even on the weekends) at 6.30am-7ish. It sucks being up that early on the weekends though :(
The exercise helps as well. In the summer I was walking 2km every morning and it helped me get out of bed and gave me more energy throughout the day. |

| What's worse is waking up @7AM w/o an alarm clock everyday, no matter how late you went to sleep...and to top it off not being a morning person in the slightest. |

It's not about complaining, it's about the fact that we actually have a hard time going from asleep, to awake! I've genuienly been trying to get up the first time my alarm goes off, but I just can't seem to muster up enough motivation so say "hey, I'm awake, this is the best day of my life" lol |
sorry i didn't mean you're complaining. i meant that voice or lack of motivation that says "ugh i dont wanna get up" or "5 more minutes"... shut that out and flat out get up. ignore it and/or think "let's go" and just go... personally that way i ACT and get up and go more instead of THINK that i dont wanna get up and its too hard. seen? |

5-HTP puts me to sleep with more vivid dreams. Harder to wake up, too.
The problem is that I tend to wake up _drenched_ in sweat if I take too high a dosage.
As far as getting up, had I that problem I'd probably drink more water at night. Getting out of bed > pissing the bed.
My boss doesn't usually get in until after noon (and looks pretty wrecky if he does). Though I frequently receive e-mailed schematics sent at 3:45am from him too. Just wired differently. Kinda nice to have somewhat split shifts. Some time in the morning alone to concentrate on work. |

my brother was prescribed sleeping pills for medication he was taking (obv doctors are gonna prescribe that over melatonin). told him to cut that and take melatonin instead. works even better for him now and hes getting better sleep |

I think eventually though you don't see sleep on weekends as a sacrifice...especially if your job is demanding.
Last night I should have listened to my own advice - a few drinks before bed and I was wide awake and feeling disgusting at 4:30am. |
