By no means will I defend places like CNN, MSNBC, et. al. because they're just as equally biased and no doubt have they twisted things around. That said, the fact that you're defending Fox News as better than the rest of them and completely innocent of any wrongdoing is utterly retarded and absolutely ing absurd. You're, sir, are an imbecile in the finest sense of the word.

One short example, looks like footage from actual "news" and not from pundits.

Fox News displays old campaign footage to claim Palin is getting ‘huge crowds’ at her book signings. (Updated) This afternoon, Fox News host Gregg Jarrett proudly announced that Sarah Palin is “continuing to draw huge crowds while she’s promoting her brand new book. Take a look at — these are some of the pictures just coming into us.” But the pictures that the network chose to display on-air appeared to be old file footage of Palin rallies from the 2008 presidential campaign. Individuals in the crowd are seen holding McCain/Palin signs, and others are holding pom-poms and cheering wildly. “There’s a crowd of folks,” an enthused Jarrett observed, referring to the old footage. Watch it:
An intern at a third rate channel over here who doesnt really care about his job doesnt make a mistake like that, but a professional who probably gets paid severl hundred thousand a year to make sure like this doesnt happen does?

Now I'm an imbicile. I never said, even remotely, that Fox is completely innocent of any wrongdoing altogether. Are they better than the other cable news networks? I'm not an expert on tv production, but I'm sure each outlet excells in certain aspects over their rivals. They do have twice the viewership of MSNBC and CNN combined though... that's gotta mean something; if they were a horrible news orgainzation that simply wouldn't happen.
And Mongoose, that example is a horrible comparison. Anyone watching those clips would now those were of Palin at campagin rallies... they were showing the whole "Palin drawing huge crowds" theme to talk about how her book signing was doing the same; I didn't see them say, "There she is at a book signing right there," while showing footage of her at a campaign event. The MSNBC footage was blatant doctoring of the original video, cropping out his skin and making a black guy assumed to be a white guy carrying a gun... then trying to inject race into the protest when it had nothing to do with anything. That is seriously ed up.

That's because they're so blatantly conservative. They offer viewers a perspective that reinforces the views of those people. And they get a lot of viewership from those that despise them.
And I realize MSNBC does the same. The sad thing is that CNN is fairly balanced and still gets called things like the Clinton News Network, Communist News Network, etc. For God's sake, they had Lou Dobbs & Glenn Beck on there very recently, which should show the balance.
Halcyon+On+On
That's not balanced - Beck has twice as many chins as Dobbs!

Yeah, you know that argument would hold much more water if the guy didnt basically state that the videos that are shown are from the book signing and not from the campaign. Maybe its the lack of sleep but i undestand the following statement from the video

Countinouing to draw huge crowds while promoting her brand new book, take a look at, these are some of the pictures just comming to us, you can see the lines formed earlier this morning shes, theres a crowd of folks
that the guy wes saing that the pictures were taken of the actuall book signing on that day or perhaps even broadcasted live, and not some 1 year old footage from a vault.

A couple years back there was a huge lawsuit brought against faux for all their lies and they won. The courts ruled in their favor saying they have every right to lie as much as they want.
Since then, they've kicked it into high gear by giving glenn beck a platform to dumb down their white trash teabagging viewership even more.
Th17sss is a perfect example, teabaggery on full display.

It's not that sad really. The mindset of a comedian is to look at things from different angles and make them funny. They can use that same ability to look at issues from different perspectives and evaluate them to come up with a clear political stance.

Edit: i agree with you: our mainstream media is a huge joke; they're largely about advocating, and no longer reporting.
When Jon Stewart interviewed Lou Dobbs, he (Jon) surprised me by saying that he thought you had to choose a side when you present the news in order to be successful. I don't think he meant he thinks it's right, but it's what you have to do to get viewers.

You don't think that Fox's intermittent programming of news and pundits isn't intended to do exactly this?

The switched footage of the attendance at their teabag rally with that of the Glenn Back rally isn't editing with the intent to mislead?

To quote Stewart "MSNBC wishes they were Fox" (meaning as successful). No one with any credibility is trying to claim MSNBC as an unbiased news source.

Ratings are no indicator of the quality of a news source. They only indicate how many people watch it, which could be for a variety of reasons.

That suit was filed against a local affiliate in Tampa by 2 of its former employees... for decisions their local producer asked of them. It had nothing to do with the actual Fox News Channel or any of its corporate executives sending directives from the top down.
Glen Beck's program on Fox is no different than Olbermann's on MSNBC or James Carville's on CNN... and you know this. So, attacking only Fox kind of makes you a hypocrite, no? Opinion pundit shows are different than actual news programs; Glen Beck is not a journalist reporting the news. That MSNBC clip was deliberate editing of source material to fan racial flames. Go on and call me a "teabagger", as if that pseudo homosexual innuendo makes me look dumb and you the clever elite. As George Will stated, you water carrying liberals can't stand Fox because they are the one discordant note in an otherwise harmonious (media) chorus.
