People from around the world know more about the inner workings of our country and media than our own.... how exactly? By viewing their own media who is largely state controlled in many cases? Foreign media has their own biases of America and likely reports to that effect, especially when American national interests are not always aligned with other countries'. |

You have absolutely no right to continue discussing media now that you've stated that you believe that all news is "totally void of factual basis". Kindly exit this thread. |

Not what I was saying AT ALL. I was trying to say that ALL news outlets show bias in their own way... not just the one with the conservative slant. Didn't mean to make it look like I was saying all news is void of factual basis... that WOULD be moronic. |

You'll have to accept my apologies, my computer just started to run a little bit slow and you posted that in the time it took me to post mine. Having said that, you must've completely missed the part earlier in the thread where I warned you that you needed to be sure to make yourself as clear as possible, lest you come off looking like an ass. |

I hear ya. That was my mistake; I re-read the posts and totally see how my way of wording initially looked like I was saying what you thought.

lol... well obviously I know we will not agree; Fox is pure evil conjured up by the devil himself, and that idea is hard to uproot. I'm just letting you know I respect your opinions even if we don't agree, chief. |

| Okay. Just make sure you watch how you word your posts in the future. |

Purposely distorting? You want proof?
I can't think of a more literal example that this;
| quote: |
Fox News distorts photos of New York Times reporters.
This morning on Fox & Friends, co-hosts Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade called Jacques Steinberg’s June 28 New York Times article on Fox News’s declining ratings a “hit piece,” adding that Steinberg and Times editor Steven Reddicliffe are “attack dogs.” During the segment, Fox aired blatantly distorted photos of Steinberg and Reddicliffe with their teeth yellowed, eyes blackened, and facial features exaggerated:

But if you want some ones that really matter try these:

Fox were actually forced to apologize for these ones.
Don't get me wrong, I'm doing the armchair pundit thing and Jon Stewart certainly isn't the saviour - but there is so much proof out there that s news are just a bunch of biased republican cunts masquerading as a news outfit.
Honestly if you can't see it already, then you never will, because the info is out there. |

This. And in addtion to american programs we get domestic ones as well, so an issue is usually fairly represented from many side. In opposition to that 25% of americans get their news exclusively from fox (cant be bothered to find the link to the poll now, its easily googlable i think). THe same poll if i remember correctly also shows what a distorted worold view that 25% of people that only watches fox has. Ill look for it after i have gotten some sleep.
And while Olberman isnt known for holding his tongue, you might want to check when he unleashes his power...most likely in response to blatant lies from fox like just for example the outrageous claims in the health care debate that the hc bill would cover illegal immigrant even though almost every network showed an image of a page from the bill on which it was written in big bold letters "no healthcare for illegal immigrants". When faced with such blatant lies its only right that he raises his voice and points out that the oppositions arguments are completely false. And, not to mention, he doesnt cut off the microphones of his guests, starts insulting them and ends the interview when he starts loosing the debate. Thats something O'Riley has done on several occasions for example. I wont even try to disassemble Beck without channelling some of the greatest psychiatric minds of history at once.
Also, why is elitist considered a bad word, i haven't heard a good case for that...well ever. |
