Gangs of New York sucked, I didn't even think Daniel Day Lewis was all that great in it, and he's usually excellent. I think Benny & Joon was Leo's best role (he really did a great job). Still, Shutter Island looks great.
BTW, The Island was a steaming pile too. |

| I don't like Leo, but this movie could be good. I'll give it a chance. |

Well yeah, Michael Bay.
I don't think Dicaprio has ever done a role I truly did not like - The Beach, The Aviator and What's Eating Gilbert Grape all come to mind. Yeah, he's a Hollywood head, but he didn't get to where he is by utter accident. |

| Actually, I meant What's Eating Gilbert Grape. Switched up my Johnny Depp apparently. I also thought he did a hell of a junkie in Basketball diaries. |

The Aviator and eventually The Beach actually made me a DiCaprio fan, I didn't like the guy at all up until then. I went and rewatched some of his older movies, guess you just have to be more mature to appreciate him?
edit // Not to say Meat is immature, I just didn't like him when I was younger :p |

| I think I know just what you mean. It also didn't help that one of his largest roles ever was Jack(?) in Titanic - the hype from that movie kind of tarnished his name a bit once it had all blown over, but I think the fact that he was able to move past it seemingly without allowing himself to be typecast is a testament to the man's professionalism. |

| DiCaprio is one of the finest actors in Hollywood right now and has been for years. Don't hate him because of Titanic. :p |

i have to agree.
the competition is not exactly fierce.
I also watched Law Abiding Citizens the other night, and although the ending was a let down it was pretty awesome.
the beginning is totally wtfbbq...they really went out of the way to make you feel for butler.
"kids like me" omg.
Will probably watch Halloween 2 tonight. I'm not expecting much, but i liked the first one Zombie did, which is surprising as i generally hate the movies he directs. |

| Devil's Rejects was charming as hell, I thought the first one was complete ass though. |

| looks like a proper film, the preview caught my attention when i was walking out of avatar and it was playing on one of the wall-screens in the entrance. |

it was better than house of a thousand corpses by far, but that was not hard to beat.
I really liked the kid in the first halloween, and even though it was a plot already done a million times with the same actors as all of his movies it caught my attention more than any other one since jamie lee curtis was a teenager.
by no means a masterpiece, but a good watch. |
