haha... a rare agreement between us. A lot of the burbs outside of Boston are depressing for sure, but there's something different about black people in florida than other states I've spent time in... I can't put my finger on it, but it's there. More aggressive? More flamboyant? Weird mix of that dirty-south type of ghetto accent? I can't quite figure it out. |

the blacks in florida tend to be less educated than everywhere else. This is a generalization for sure, as there are many well to do intelligent african americans in the state, but i am not talking about them. Thug life. They are angry angry angry, and not given the tools to go further.
They can't even give you proper change or get the order right at Pollo Tropical:p
ps Ybor city is not small town. There is more white trash there than anywhere in the US.:p |

lol... I like that analysis. Sounds pretty much in line with what I spent about 23 years living around, especially the whole thing about having an angry chip on their shoulder. Funny you made the point about giving back change; my dad would routinely get frustrated with the confusion of them not being able to figure that process out at McDonalds of wherever. :stongue:
Ybor... that place is dirty and scary. I'd only be there between noon and 2:00 pm to get lunch at the Columbia, Carmines, or the sushi joint Samuri Blue. Peace out before the street lights come on! |

I like Sarasota... it's nice and clean, especially around the Longboat Key and St. Armands Circle portion (and Siesta Key). Make sure you grub down at Tommy Bahamas.

This is true, but that state produces some excellent football players. So I'm cool with florida having nothing but dumb blacks, dirty cubans, and old white people :p |
