That's not at all how it happened. Leno was supposed to retire last year and Conan to take over. But he chose to stay, and thus his horrible "The Jay Leno Show" was born. It's NBC's fault for keeping him in the first place and Jay Leno's fault for not knowing when to step down.
Leno could have been a big man and accept that it was time for him to step down, but he chose to be an and get Conan removed. |

NBC will the bed when Leno fails in the ratings next week and in the following months. Then, Johnny Carson will lulz in his grave at NBC when Conan gets picked up on another network in the fall in a timeslot rivaling Jay and his ratings skyrocket and crush NBC. They know they've made a mistake, I guarantee it. I'm just curious as to what sort of contract Leno has with NBC; there has to be a reason they refused to dump him.
I'd also be willing to bet that Conan returns with the same writing staff, same band, etc. It'll just be like a six-month vacation for all of them. A very well-paid six month vacation. |

To be fair, the whole cast/crew isn't getting that well paid considering they had to uproot their families from NY. Conan walks away with a cool $44 mil, producer Jeff Ross gets $4 mil and I believe the staff gets $75k. No word on Andy or the band or anyone else. Obviously Max will be ok because he always has Bruce to fall back on :stongue:
Keep in mind he CAN come back in September, but he's been pretty public about not having any offers yet. So who knows.
