Dear Mr. Club Owner...

Pretext: Going out tonight and noticing many small things that could be improved upon to make the experience perfect.

This is the thread to provide advice or feedback or suggestions to club owners/managers on how they can better manage & run events & venues.

Suggestions should not be music related; they need to be more about non-music aspects of the business. (No "better sound", "more dj X", "tune the speakers" type of posts).

The idea is to offer constructive feedback & advice (contribution!) - not bitch and complain (too easy, not useful).

I will start this off:

Dear Mr. Club Owner,

Please do not overly tighten the toliet seats so I cannot place them in an upright position when standing and using the toilet.

If I cannot lift the seat, others cannot lift the seat - and although I may have precision in such affairs - most do not (resulting in the seat being quite messy).

Please have the seats tight enough to sit on without injruy but not so tight that they can't be lifted.

Thank you.

Dear Mr. Club Owner,

Please provide free ear-plugs to all guests & customers. We like loud music but we don't like going deaf from over-exposure. If I had it my way you should hand them out to everybody when people arrive and pay their cover. Foam ear-plugs are very inexpensive.

I see this as an investment in your future business: by protecting customers's ears ultimately they can enjoy music (and visit your club) for more years (lifetime value of customer). Shorter-term thinking would be that they could stay later in your club buying drinks & water (vs. leaving due to sore ears and/or under-consuming due to volume/loundness issues).

Free hearing protection (due to prolonged high-dB exposure) is required for employees via OHSA - give the same privilege to your clientele. Protect them both the same.

Thank you.

Dear Mr. Club Owner,

Try and control your bar staff, and standardize the prices. I have been out quite a few times, and depending on which bartender serves you, you pay a different price for the same drink.

I would try and bring this to somebody'd attention, but at the time, all I can see are bouncers, who do not control such aspects of a club. So, more visible managerial staff would also help.

Dear Mr. Club Owner,

Please ensure that my $6+ beer is cold when it's served, and tell your eager beaver bar-back not to throw away my full beer at 2:15 while I'm having a cigarette outside.

no one likes prick bouncers.

Ensure that they are nice/decent unless a situation requires them to act otherwise.

Teach them to apologize and be genuinely concerned with the positivity of the experience of all patrons.

Dear Mr. Club Owner...

have people maintain the washrooms, most clubs have the guy with colognes and gum and whatever it may be..but do the stalls have to be a mess?

Dear Mr. Club Owner,

Please ensure that your coat check is adequately staffed on busy winter nights. The $100 expense you incur will be offset by an additional $5000 or more in bar revenue as a result of patrons not having to wait in another line.

Thank you.

1. dont make me wait in line for like 45 mins when the club isnt full. I love footwork but the last few times I've gone there I've waited in line for the loooooongest time, only to get in there and see its only 60% full so far. I hate how you are like 20th in line but they let in like 3 people every 5 mins even though it isnt even close to full inside yet. Pet peve of mine... Maybe the place has just been getting more and more popular lately. It gets packed every time i am there now.

2. Make the coat check and bathrooms more efficient (and clean).

Dear Mr. Club Owner,

Please fix the bathrooms promptly when they are broken. It's annoying when each time you go to a club there's one more sign on one of the bathroom stalls that says "out of order". Understandable you may not be able to fix them immediately, but a few weeks, even a month should be enough time. The bathrooms keep getting smaller and smaller when rather than fixing toilets you just put another sign on the door. You start with 5 stalls, the next month there's 4, the next month there's 3, the next month there's 2...

Also, please make sure there's enough toilet paper in the bathroom to last the evening.

Thanks
