perhaps..

but either way i still suggest that its too many rules that are tiring people out.

Add me to that category. Ive stopped giving a too. I either avoid situations where im going to be dicked around (like trying to go anywhere downtown during the day) or i just do as i what (within reasonable limits) and hope the commies wont catch me!

yup thats right, i talk on my phone, speed in artificially low speed traps and (god forbid) sleep in my car if im too drunk to drive home!

Im such a law breaking menace!!! Someone call Mcguinty!!

technically, isn't both drunk driving and talking on the phone driving classified as careless driving?
at the end of the day I just want her a. not to get a hefty ticket and b. get home alive

um no...

drunk driving is a criminal offence. Talking on the phone is a traffic offense.

Both very different situations and very different sections of the law.

You really cant compare the two.

Drunk driving (im talking over .08 and not mcguintys .05 BS law) is rightfully classified as a criminal act and the punishment is fitting.

I'm just saying "PUT THE PHONE DOWN AND CONCENTRATE ON DRIVING".

And that's not to just you but EVERYONE.

HOW DO YOU KNOW THAT I WASN'T CONCENTRATING!! ya i yelled back..

as I stated I have never come close to hitting anyone or anything while talking on a cell phone which was LEGAL until recently....so for many, many years something that was OK in the eyes of everyone is now something to be frowned upon because our lawmakers say it's illegal...

unless you yourself have never talked on a cell phone in your car and have ALWAYS championed banning them..in which case..you can judge me

:D

ps, i thought i was responding to vince this whole time..i curse your avatar!

I wasn't thinking in terms of legal terms, but I can't word myself correctly for some reason (FOB moment :()

welcome to how society has villified smokers and is now about to launch the same war on drinkers and junk food eaters.

Social engineers seek to change behaviour by making it shameful in the eyes of society with their "think of the children/health care system!" arguements.

even then it should be left at a difference of opinion. Not transformed into laws!

LOL well even still its a slippery slope arguement. I could take your arguement and successfully argue for a ban on radios, passengers, and even adjusting the AC based on the premise you have given here.

Social engineering amazes me.

on a related note, about my money making scam. stats have just been released about the new speed cams installed on some highways over here.

8494 fines averaging 164$ each from a single camera in a 4 months period!!! (over 4M$ annualized from a single camera!!!)

Something is seriously wrong here. And no the camera is working perfectly to specifications... I'll let you guess.

since i hate headsets, yes I have always used the speakerphone on my phone while driving or pulled over to the side. I have personally been in a car that has almost been run into by an idiot on a phone not once, not twice but several times. They however do not realize that they almost hit someone and you probably are one such person.

a bunch of pedestrians that got run over in the last couple of weeks in toronto.

Oddly enough, 1 was hit by a streetcar and another by a bus. But that shouldnt get in the way of a good anti-car arguement in city hall i guess.
