Nor'easter on its way. Looks like DC will be hit the hardest. Wish we'd get snow on a Monday instead of a Friday. Anybody worried that this will interfere with the Marco V & SHM parties?

I highly advise anyone who is traveling long distance to either beat the storm up here and stay overnight or not travel at all. The light snow + ice patches make the roads brutal to travel.

The last snowstorm in my area two weeks ago was downright nasty.

I was going back up to school and a trip that normally takes 2.5 hours took 5 since I was stuck in traffic jams from accidents and driving at 30mph on the highway.

This one area outside of Monticello we see a minivan on our side of 17 and it's spun around completely. So we take it slowly and a little bit down the road on the other side we see three cars in a fender bender and some other lady's car sitting in a ditch...and she looks frightened.

So we keep on going, even slower, and then we see this white Dodge Ram truck barreling down the other side of the highway. It hits a patch of black ice and the driver loses control and comes barreling through the median right at us.

But before the guy gets to our side of the highway, he hits an embankment coming out of the median and I'm sitting there looking out the backseat window and about eight feet away his truck is sliding on the pavement (upside down) at 30+ mph with sparks flying everywhere. I still remember the grinding sound it made.

He did one barrel roll and landed back in the center of the median, but it's the craziest I ever saw.

my only concern is that it snows 2-5 feet worth so I can rip the out of the freshies on my snowboard. marco v i could care less right now.

i think i've turned into a seasonal snob, winters i only care about snowboarding. and im only really fond of outdoor great weather parties to attend. not such a club owl anymore, maybe in a different city.

I'll be driving into Westchester and I heard they will probably get hit the least if anything at all so I am not too worried. Worst case scenario...I will just spend the night there.

as long as trains back to NJ aren't knocked out, I'm good. And even if they are, well, any kind person around the city have a spare couch for a day? :tongue2

I hear the LIRR won't run if the snow reaches 10 inches. They are still observing. Between 8-11PM the snow should start in NYC. I've heard snowfall amounts can be anywhere from 3-6". The slightest turn to the south can give us little to no snow.

Ohhh we are going to get the most snow. This is definitely The Blizzard of 2010.
