not really... ignorance would be if he didn't know. not knowing and not careing are two very different things. |
You drink, breath and eat, does that not all come from the planet. Wouldn't that make it a now issue. Stupid and uneducated are 2 different things now which would you guys fall under? Anyways I won't waste anymore time debating the fact that his comment is ignorant and not caring, is ignorance as he is ignoring the fact that humans are a part of nature and are therefore affect by what we do to it. So ya he might be dead (fingers crossed) long before the end of the planet but his and all of our lives are being shortened by the we are pumping into the environment.
Go watch the 11th hour, or even better go read something and educate yourself a little. |

I think my B.Sc. degree in environmental geography is enough education for me.
I am more curious to know why you would care about what happens to the earth after you're dead?
If anything you could call me selfish or uncaring but not ignorant. |

Ah ... this is funny...
Dude, I never opined as to whether or not there was any need to be concerned with the state of the environment at present; subsequently, it seems more then a little bit of a jump for you to assume that I believe it is not an issue. My comment was with regard to your misuse of the word ignorant; the meaning of which you are clearly ignorant of. That said, continuing from your post; the planet will not end as a result of the present environmental concerns. Earth has a fantastic system of mechanisms that will eventually right any wrongs we inflict upon it. The concern is not for earth, the concern is for man; man is at risk, the planet will be fine regardless of what we do or do not do. In addition, Chemy's degree is in earth sciences; rest assured he understands the issues and concerns, which as I've illustrated, you clearly do not. |

If the Earth decides we are too damaging, it will destroy us. The planet has a remarkable way of repairing itself...over time. |

LOL dood did you have your mom proof read that for you. Is this your attempt to prove you passed grade 9? As usual I'm sure chem isn't this stupid, hes just a disturber. So does that make you his side kick or bum buddy? Anyone arguing against being environmental is a moron (IMO)so I could care less about what you have to say. |

What a stupid thing to be concerned about. Who the F cares if UFC ever comes here. We have slightly more important issues... nuclear power(FAIL), economy(FAIL), Health care(Fail), Environment(MEGA FAIL), maybe lets try and focus on the important things before we concern ourselves with whether or not we'll allow a couple morons beat the sh*t out of each other at the ACC.
McGuinty should have said, "shut up and go to the bar" end of story.
I would just like to add that no one put environment on the list of priorities. I guess that makes sense since none of us depend on the earth for survival of our species...

You obviously don't know much about the sport so I'll excuse you for your ignorance. You're comment reminds me of those people who talk about EDM because they have no idea what it's about. You know the type. I'm sure we have all come across the ignorant EDM basher that we can't even be mad at as they know not what they speak of. We just shake our heads and smile. That's what you sound like to me.
I'm a Social Worker so I don't have to explain to you what I do on a daily basis. Let's just say I make sure that the average Torontonian doesn't have to fully face the plight of the poor in this city. I help to ensure most of you can live in your happy bubbles. I have also spent considerable time this week raising money to bury our 7th murder victim of the year so please don't tell me that I am somehow not socially or morally conscious. I do my part and I sure as hell am not going to apologize for being a fan of a legitimate sport and wanting to see it live in my home town.
How much time and effort do you think it would take our government to sanction such an event? Do you think it would be all encompassing? Do you think they would have to forget about everything else and just focus on bringing the UFC to town? Bringing the UFC to Toronto would be another day at the office and trust me, they would have more than enough time to deal with all those issues you hold so dear to your heart.
