Matt Taub and I personally created the first ever World Wide Trance Addict meet up at Sabaros back in 2002 (see pics below) .
Non of that would have been possible if we didn't have the forums to communicate and exchange info in an open format.

Lets bring it back to the good old days guys.... |

Its much more than one person's thread being axed though...
Just today, how many threads were moved, closed, and deleted?
Granted, I'm not talking about the fake interview threads. While they were funny, they were offensive and should have been removed.
But why the hell did my thread get deleted? We were simply stating ways we think NYTA can be improved...and it was deleted...why?
Not to mention all the other looney decisions being made around here lately. For the life of me, I can't figure out why the cable TV company thread was closed, lol. Baffling, really...
My main problem, is that no answers are being given. Instead of answers, threads are being closed and deleted. Who's doing that? |

Edit: Mels you must think of this like a manager in a store. Z took a job, costumers complain. Their complaints are not direct insults about the manager, but, instead, criticism of how the place is run. Any good manager takes a majority complaint into consideration because he or she would like the place to to run as effeciently, and as complaint-free as possible. Thus, no one is insulting ANYONE, merely making a stand about how things are going down the ter. |

All I care about is the Party area, to see what events are coming up.
Otherwise post what you want. I posted a USA hockey Vs. Swiss thread, and it was moved..I want the NYC thoughts on this, not the entire USA...I cant keep track of where is moved...im too old |

i am adamantly against a random thoughts thread. if everything is classified as random how are we ever going to have different conversations? a random thoughts thread is just that pretty much one off comments like "i like turtles" and maybe two responses come through before someone else changes the conversation.
interviews in the music discussion board make logical sense and i'm on board with that.
i do think we should maintain our community feel. if i start a USA-CANADA hockey thread this weekend i would prefer to discuss with the local community since i know there are a lot of hockey fans. we all have different interests and we should have the ability to bring them up on our local forum. we can't have everything cookie cutter organized because i'll be the first to tell you i don't check all the forums, if it's the middle of the work day and i have a couple minutes i'll look at the topics quickly then keep it moving. no time to dig around for different things because at that point you are actively looking for something, i like the smorgasbord of topics in a local thread. with the array of offering somewhat lacking as of late my desire to check out ta in general has lessened... |

my point exactly. Actually, this thread was created in a tease that my Olympic hockey thread was outed after about 5 minutes time. :( |

all of this is part of the reason why I gave up being Mod and probably also the reason why Redeye stopped posting here.
lots of bitching and moaning, lots of defending and criticism
everyone feels like they have a point to make...Z what you need to do is put your foot down and say this is the way things are going to be and make sure you pick meticulously which you'll abide by. Remember as a 'spokeswoman' for this section, you're job isn't to clean and moderate but also lead by example. That means not being partial to certain people, closing/opening/deleting certain threads.
and by all of this, I mean to say that when I was former mod, I actually had a conversation about an issue with Montana who said to me, "I'm very sorry Kid Nyce, I feel like throwing up right now" lol out of context so don't make assumptions but that's just showing you we can all say what we want, just make sure you stick by it in all cases because we all know you're under criticism now.
This is what I meant by saying earlier on, you'll hate it in 3 months. Once people feel like they have a voice with a person in power, they feel like they can say things to make changes (or object to certain changes) and that's where Friends vs Mod lines become blurred.
and for the record, pyro's real identity is 'walking meet up spot' |
