Women and Text Messages

My questions:
- for the female TA's: Why do women use text messages to communicate with guys, rather than actually call them?
- for people in relationships: Do you communicate with your significant others via text messages, or do you actually dial the number and call them, when you want to get in touch?
- for everyone who's dating: Do you sometimes get the feeling that text messages are a polite way of keeping you at arm's length? Isn't texting is a little disrespectful when the person could have called you? |

| I think it's just more convenient to text - the other half might not be able to talk for whatever reason so he/she can answer the text whenever there's time. |

Texting has its place - especially when pricing means for $10 I can text my friends as much as possible, yet that same amount would allow me to make 10 phone calls. On the dating scene it will make you look like a wuss - calling shows interest.
But! Texts have got to be the most mis-interpreted form of communication EVER.
