oh man, tim burtons rendition of batman was my favorite to date. michael keaton, danny devito, kkk. i loved how he mixed fantasy with darkness, it was great, i could watch those over and over. they weren't great action films like the new ones are, but they are definitely much better in terms of atmosphere

I watched these again just a few days ago and I really must agree. I adore both takes on Batman, but Keaton, to me, has played the best Bruce Wayne hands-down. Guy is so controlled and brooding, I just love his expression and nature. Also, as you mentioned, mothering Devito. Nobody will play a better Penguin.

Oh, and Paul Ruebens as Penguin's dad made me lol.

I read in Wizard that Bob Kane thought George Clooney was the best Batman. :wtf:

I watched Batman & Robin for the first time just a few days ago and was surprised it got so much ing hate. It was certainly the worst of all the Batmans and had more cheddar than Vermont, but if you view it as a re-interpretation of the Adam West-era Batman, it's kind of enjoyable in its own way. Uma was great, it's just that Arnold ing wrecked the whole movie haha

Also, Bob Kane is older than time. Wait, is he even still alive?

//Dude died 12 years ago, what in the hellll. His opinion is clearly expired as well.

And actually, while I too favored Michael Keaton, he really isn't much like the Batman/Bruce Wayne of the comics. He's too nerdy. I can certainly see why Kane thought Clooney was the right fit.

edit: Conversely, Keaton's Batman/Wayne seems to draw more upon the Detective comics, so in that sense he's a great fit.

Speaking of Clooney.

I read an interview with him, a year or two ago.

I can't remember which film he was referring to, but his comment was "Proving again, that my forte is not acting".

When asked about his Batman role, he replied "Ah, I will honestly refund the ticket price to anyone who went to see that"

:stongue:

I'd seriously shag George Clooney if I was gay :o

hahaha, I love that guy.

Did you see The Men Who Stare At Goats? Best new movie I'd seen in a while; I love how unashamed it was with its messages. Need more of that.
