Is it really an ipad killer? or is it just another tablet running windows?

edit:

Only useful advantage is the webcam. It would have been awesome to skype video chat on the iPad....

300,000 on the first day according to Apple.

I still don't see the value in this. It's neither an ebook (I'd hate to read that all day), nor a laptop. I can't imagine having to type more than a sentence or two on that tapping finger by finger.

Aside from the fact that it looks cool, I'm scratching my head on how people get a real practical use out of this...

I bet the earthquakes on the west coast the other day were caused by all the Ipads shifting from one side of the ocean to the other.

Engadget reported that with fairly heavy use they still managed to get close to 11hrs of battery life out of it which is pretty impressive

endgadget and apple too. Just like the Itouch/iphone had original battery lives of like 8+ hours and , right? Turns out my itouch is dead in 30 minutes if i'm doing something enjoyable on it.

Maybe I got the ty one where i'm playing a game for 15-30 mins and when I close it half my battery is drained. Ok, only if I don't have my brightness down to 0. In that case the battery is only 1/4 drained.

like most people, they probably aren't tech savvy to understand that broadcasting a signal like bluetooth or wifi will attribute to poor battery life yet have some of the loudest opinions about a device that they don't ever use properly.

i'd check to see if you're running wifi (switched to on) all the time, if it's on then your ipod is constantly searching and picking up wifi spots, that's not necessarily important when you're running in the park. I make it a habit to run wifi whenever i'm sitting bored somewhere like an airport to actually have to turn it on and when i'm done "wanting to be connected" i go back in and switch it off.
