Let people having fun and not scare them with a loud annoying voice by girls! People go at your party, just because of those djs, so they know them and just wait to see them and cry as a baby! At least, use a nice sexy voice recorded in advance and fit it in the track, like Essential mix do on their show.

I totaly agree. Her voici is painfull. Every times she speak, I always yell :"Shut up!!!"

My part-time job is to bash BeB events it seems but living in Ottawa drew me to this party once again ... I mean, what are the alternatives? :p

There were numerous good things to say about this event, aspects that have been mentioned already, such as the improved decor, increased VIP seating (and seating all around for that matter), improved dj performance and most importantly for many, decreased entry time.

I was hearing reports of 90-min wait times for the regular lineup - a continued improvement from the previous year, and a marked improvement from the 2008 4-hour mess. The security check queues were bulging at the seams but not the coatchecks, as mentioned already.

Chalk it up to the good weather? In any case, it will be interesting to see if this warming trend continues, as, in fact, Easter falls on April 24 next year.

I had VIP again, so my wait was a paltry 15 mins. However, at the security check-point I was asked to take out my cellphone battery. Hmmmm. :p

Musically, my review is not as succinct as it would be for say, Black and Blue.

Bal en Blanc can be an overwhelming experience when you have 10 djs at your disposal to choose from. However, that lovely plethora of options came to a screeching halt when Infected Mushroom and LMFAO were on simultaneously :p

At times I heard layering of trance and tech in both rooms, and were it not for the Boombox, the two rooms may not have been that distinct from one another. One could definitely say that dance music is evolving all around, even the slower adapting trance.

Cesar "Bass" Romero further cemented his reputation in that house room. It was perhaps the most intense set of the party, pounding atitude-laiden tech house that immediately put this party into sexy drive. Cesar, if you're reading these reviews, a big up to you and hopefully we'll all be able to spell your name correctly in future reviews :p

David Guetta. Kaskade. David Morales.

I bashed them all when I first heard the lineup but, admittedly, all three djs far exceeded my expectations.

Guetta's set was the biggest surprise as he finally played for the dancefloor and not for dj worship. This set wasn't earth-shattering to say the least, but compared to his previously lazy Bal en Blanc sets, this set was far more sophisticated and inspired than his previous ones here. Are his skills finally catching up to his productions? That's not saying a lot, hehe, but only time will tell; the mixing was much more proper this time.

Kaskade's set was also better than anticipated, and much better than the set recently posted on here, though that WMC set contained some hints at his potential.

Ana Paula was good, this set was perhaps more latin-inspired than her 2009 one but perhaps the bar was raised too high with that one. I had to give her a random high-five on the dancefloor, nonetheless :p

David Morales satiated not only his following from Stereo but pretty much everyone who was on that dancefloor. saucy vocals, terrific energy and now I know why he is affectiontely called mo-mo by the Stereoheads who love him so much.

Ferry Corsten was great, and so was Markus and so was Sander, especially Sander. Lots of tech trance, lots of tracks that would do well in both rooms and lots of energy from those three. I needed this kind of hard, edgy, danceable trance in Montreal after the lousy Armin set I saw back in September :p

As for the lowlights: for next year, please solve the print-at=home ticket issue, and please do not ever use the strobe lights for that duration again. I do not think I am susceptible to seizures but I am sure a few that were there are, and I would not be surprised that that is what caused the horrifying one I was told about.

In conclusion, a big shout-out to my party friends, the usual suspects that I love burning up the dancefloor with, and to the folks serving drinks... that cannot be an easy job to do. Cheers.

I think his version of a boombox were the bathroom stalls.

At least they were not screaming during breakdowns like a lot of MCs does in raves in Europe... TOTAL TURNOFF

I think that when they pay a real master of ceremony, the guy feels the need to always be talkin, which is total ! As long as they only talk in the intros/outros, i'll be okay with that!

I was just listening to Cosmic Gate live @ Trance Energy 2004 and I beg to differ. The MC has a SICK voice and can really get a crowd moving and make a difference at those dawn hours of the event.

Hell, for the price BeB tickets are going for, gimme a full-on show for every DJ intro.

Ça c'est du show mon ami!

My Verdict on BEB 16:

I think this was the best BeB I have ever been too, I have been going every year since 2007, and this was by far the best one!!

Sander dropped a sick set!! Wow, he is finally back!! He def. set the the stage for a sick night.

Makus Schulz def. killed it!! That's why he is my hero!! The guy knows what he is doing, I have seen Markus atleast 12 or 13 times and this was his best set ever! Track after track, banger after banger!! WTF

Dropping Scot Mac – Damager (Mac Zimms Remix) blew me away, also dropping Stranger To Stability in the Middle of a Trance set show that Schulz is a genius!! all his big room reconstructions caused a lot of destruction to the dance floor!! Wow, that's what I call a big room rave set, I have a lot of friends who only like house and they loved Markus set!! I DJ, and everytime I see Markus I get more inspired and I def. learn a lot from him!

I also think the boombox was overrated, expected more!!

Overall great party! Thank God for Markus Schulz!!

Cheers!
