Canada Day/week in Toronto... (pg. 4)

The volume this past Canada Day was significantly lower than the year prior as well. I remember in 2008 I was feeling really ill and wanted to leave, but the only reason I stayed is b/c the tunes were rockin'. This year the tunes were so low I felt like I was just chillin' on my patio and talking with some friends.

| So, will the annual event at Guv be on Wednesday or Thursday?? The years I've gone, I think it's always been on the 30th of June.... Will you all get Friday off of work as well? With Canada day falling on Wednesday last year, I remember a lot of people having to return to work on Thursday or Friday. I assume the lineups will be good all weekend around town (Vola, Footy, MoS, CZ, etc), as well as the normal supply of boat parties....:tongue2 |

| The party is always on the 30th since you'll have the 1st off. I anticipate a lot of ppl will have to work on Friday the 2nd unless they book it off. Not all jobs will give you a super extended long weekend just b/c the holiday falls on a Thursday. |

If there is a big event happening in Downsview park, I might not even go out the night before.
Otherwise, I may go to Ottawa for Canada Day festivities.
I'll only go to Guv if I decide not to go to Ottawa and if there's nothing else going on. |

I'm with you. I'm leaning more towards not going out Canada Day and just doing a day party on the 1st |

i though like the canada day thing was a whole weekend long thing,
so now the main party falls on the 30th? which is a weds?
if so then i can probly make it up there

I heard (but don't believe it) that Chus and Ceballos are supposed to play Skybar for Canada Day instead of Lawler (some of it has to do with New Years Day booking drama)but again I don't believe it for a second. I know their next gig is Guvernment and they are in Montreal at the end of June for their provinical holiday, so we'll see what happens...
I didn't believe they were first joining INK when I heard it, but that turned out to be true...hmm... |

Canada Day parties at Guv have always been on the 30th. They're always the night before the holiday. |

Ya that's what I heard too from the WMC attendees.
If it's just Lawler again, I'm not so sure I want to go for the umpteenth time. However, a free CD is tempting lol |
