Well I have now walked out twice because you have failed to bring any bite to a closing set at footwork.

I would have to say that unless you bring a bit more energy to the table your style is best suited as an opening DJ.

Just my opinion, but it is shared by several others I frequently go out with.

PS. Your opening sets dont place me in a coma but as I stated above I think they are better suited to set the mood for the main act. An example of this I thought was your opening set prior to Satoshi at the Mod club.

I think you have mistaken me for someone else.
I've never played with Satoshi before.

my apologies it was Jody Wisternoff, I was thinking Satoshi because of the upcoming date.

I'm sorry I failed to 'bring bite' to my closing sets in your opinion. I've closed a grand total of two times, so yeah - I am a bit inexperienced in that field. All I can say is i'll always stay true to myself musically. I play the stuff that moves me, and I don't follow trends, or download live sets to get an idea of what is 'hot' for that particular month.

A challenge I face is that our scene is full of techno and banging sounds - and the majority of club goers will only be satisfied if the music melts their face off. I'll never be that kind of DJ, so I'll tell you the same thing I tell the guy that asks me if I 'have any Dead Mau Five' - 'you came on the wrong night dude'.

I've always enjoyed your sets buddy, keep it up!!!

No need to apologize, just constructive criticism. Obviously having the proper tools to do what you do, I'm suggesting that you may find an even better response if you pick it up a notch as a whole or even just a bit sooner rather then later in the set.

I am in no way suggesting you play dm5, or anything of that nature. I think its safe to say you have the ear to select some stuff and toss it in your sets to pick up the pace a bit.

I would have to agree with what Polk is saying. I heard you play for a bit on Halloween (re listened today) and also listened to your set on the weekend (presumably both times you closed), and I need a bit more energy too. Ideally for me, a closing DJ will provide relentlessness music until the end. The later the night gets, if there are points where the music doesn't move me, I'll just call it quits. Just personal preference though. I know of lots of people who loved your Halloween set.

I would say though that you are one of my favourite openers in the city. Your sound is very different from what most people play, so it's always a pleasure when you are on the bill. I can't think of a time where I haven't been satisfied with your set and it's always a perfect lead up to the headliner of the night. Plus, I have had many ‘music melts their face off’ moments during your opening sets, so don’t sell yourself short. Lol

Keep up the good work!

AMEN dude!

I love your sound. "Most" people, IMO, who need fast face melting music dont understand the complexity and and body control of a well produced track, both intelligent and well architectured. (not like they have a choice though because music reflects our personal vibrations and we like what matches our current frequencies, that's how music moves us...........but that's for another discussion :) )

Your track selection and pace is why I love your sets. Refreshing, and musically stimulating. I guess you could say you are at a "higha level" ;)

I listened to your closing set three times this week.............well done bud. For those that like it more up beat, this set could have easily done more for them if it was cranked up a few BPM, which really does have a big impact on the remainder of the patrons on the dance floor at that hour. Its a good closing set IMO.

Unless it's the headliner, a closing DJ winds the night down (with energy). That's what Jeff did.

You don't play balls out heavy after a headliner, because that would be stealing his thunder. You play with energy after the headliner, obviously, but you wind down the night very subtly.

Could you imagine just banging tunes and then suddenly, the lights turn on and the night is over? Ughh....

@ JB

I thought the second half of the set was bomb.
