Please help me out! Im hoping this will go somewhere, and maybe even if our opinions are bias, you can help me help bring this back to Tabu.
The new managers...think the only thing to play and people wanna hear is Top 40, Not house or anything.

If you've never been Tabu in Waterloo, I work there. I'm the club tech, and operate the lighting when we're open.
Its amazing Audio/Light Rig, And Im Hoping we can put it to good use. We used to sound Close to guverment, but play commercial/mainstream house as well for all the university students. At 1 We used to go more Deeper, at 2 we'd started going more undergroundish.
So it Will be greatly appreicated if you can help out. And Im 100% Sure You all would Love to go out more to clubs that play our kinda music!

I wouldn't want to listen to it all the time. But I definitely enjoy dancing to it once in awhile.

as I've said in the KW Scene thread....there is no EDM scene in KW and the only thing that will work short term is Top 40....once university is out the club will be dead and lucky to survive a couple years...just like every other club that has been in that location.

Instead of switching of to EDM completely, why not do an EDM night. Start with every other Saturday and see what the response is.

There could be, people dont know about it, and even if, Top 40 just in sucks. and whats gonna happen now that the Universitys are done....keep playing top 40 to non-university students.
We were surviving as house on Saturdays for the longest time-till New Manangement came in and changed it all up.
And thats why its not as big as the clubs before. its only half the size, they went out because they couldn't fill it/pay the huge rent bill. and they were playing EDM music, they were playing top 40. its unlike any other club in the area. So I think we can do something make it better
It doesn't hurt to fill out the dicussion of what you wanna hear, 10 seconds. And if it doesn't work oh well, and if it does work, AWESOME! than we have a place to go and listen to real music, right?

It won't matter....people will just go to Rev or some other club that plays top 40. The university crowd in a university town wants Top 40....with maybe a splash of EDM.
I've had friends try and make EDM clubs work in KW and they have all failed.....its just not what the university crowd wants.

I give you all the credit in the world for following your passion and trying to get this to work. I truly hope you can make it work....I would love to see KW have an EDM scene some day.
