Of course it's possible. But it's also highly unlikely.
Anyways, let's not turn this into a religious discussion. :p |

Or...maybe it's improbable simply because Jesus' existance is itself, improbable. |
Jesus as a human being is highly probable and, I'd say, more than likely. Jesus as a higher being or the son of God, rather, is improbable. Sort of like how Earth never flooded, but rather the story was based off of a massive flooding of The Nile. Ya know? |

| Youd think that being a member of a cult would engender ever-lasting happiness wouldn’t you? |

Having read a lot about malignant cults, I will tell you, that's not the case. Glassy eyes are the result of malnutrition and the smile is a combination of hypoxia, denial, depression, and a reinforcement of the belief that if you aren't smiling, you're the weak link who's just not getting it. |

On a similar subject of Catholics being outraged, there's a documentary about Jesus being a Buddhist: |
Which is as exaggerated as claiming "Jesus was a cynic". Given the ideas popular around his time, it's safe to say he was influenced by Buddhist concepts to certain extent, that he was more likely influenced by Greek cynicism but that, at heart, he couldn't go 100% against Judaism, so he's - at best - a Cynical "Juddhist", whose teachings were later hijacked by platonists.
No true Buddhist would ever care for the idea of a God.
ps.: Keep in mind cynicism in this context does not mean what it means today. |

Q: What's the difference between Jesus and a picture of Jesus?
A: it only takes one nail to hang a picture of Jesus |
