After about a year of struggling with the creative side of production, I think I discovered what my problem was. I gave up drinking soda about a year ago... had one a couple weeks ago and went in the studio and ideas were flying right out of me. I can't ing believe it. I have gotten some things done over the past year, but the past 2 weeks have been like it was 4 years ago for me.

Coca-ing-cola.

I assume your joking? Or are you serious?

i don't know where i'm at... intermed? i've had medium success w/ DJ's playing my tracks but i was ALL over the map in terms of genre. i just really like music and i'm at a point now where if it's electronic based i feel like i can make my own XYZ track for XYZ genre. 2yrs later and i have no congruency in my records, nothing that says this is an "anthony ross" track but finally in 2010, with the amount of stuff i'm sitting on and waiting on release i finally feel like i'm putting out a "sound".

yes 1/8th notes

ok not 1/8th notes but at least it's a series of originals & remixes that fit together :) To keep me happy though i started a few other side projects (myspace.com/greyghost80s // myspace.com/bubblegumscifi ) that weren't so limited in sound and genre. Had pretty good success w/ them, 2 of them in the billboard top 100 dance chart and one on a TV show.

Anyways, 2010 ... really hope what i have planned works, else i'm going to turn into that jaded kid lol

Your trolling is losing some of its subtlety. :stongue: :stongue: :stongue:

Im at a stage where I can finish tracks, but they never sound the way I want them to =(. Sound design I pretty much start off with presets then modify them beyond all recognition lol. For my first year I guess im doing ok, just cant wait to get a midi to get the ideas flowing!!

It was too hard to answer so I just wrote what came to mind first.
I did intend on answering honestly at first untill I realized I really have no clue what stage I'm at.

I mean there ARE times I won't lie when I haven't produced in a week for whatever personal reason and I'll come back and tell myself "this track is gonna put prydz's basslines to shame" but I don't think I ever really believe myself.

Maybe if I did my music would start soundin better lol :tongue2
