Look for stories from people who had near death experiences, quite interesting to read. ;) |
tunnel vision and a "white light" are what you experience when your brain is deprived of oxygen (when the brain is dying basically). Military test pilots have had the same experience when put in those big centrifuges to test their stress limitations.. There's nothing mystical about it. Naturally religions have heard these stories though and invented silly stories about your family being at the other end of the "tunnel". It's wishful thinking, which is perfectly understandable but not surprising. |

LOL, this is why I say that you're dense on purpose. Scientific advancements in the fields of medicine, biology, etc. are not driven by fear of dying but by enhancement of life. |
Actually, Oscar, I need to side with nefardec on this one: if "enhancement of life" rather than "fear of death" were the motor behind the advancement in these fields, the necessary technology to keep people barely alive through tubes and catheters would have never been created.
The "denial of death" (to borrow Becker's term) has been one of the most powerful drives to master the world we've ever acknowledged.
ps.: That's one of the best books I've ever read. It's simply amazing :) |

your peripheral vision is one of the first noticeable things to go. hence, tunnel. |

I can't speak for the jet skis but always, I wanna be with you. And make believe with you.
And live in harmony, harmony, oh love! |

Because a close friend buried her young son today.
And I would like to think there is a 'reason' this took place. |
The “reason” she buried her son today was because he was dead, -for-brains. |

The "Human Spirit" is not a thing, it's a concept.. it's a vague term we lazily use to describe real, physical, emotional phenomena that most people are happier to call "magic" and "unseen forces" and be done thinking about it, than try to figure it out.
Are the things which the term "spirit" refers to (i.e. emotions, human irrationality, etc.) real? Yes. Are they unseen, mystical or incomprehensible? Not in the ing slightest.
Your spirit goes with your body, usually buried underground and hanging out with worms. |
