You Dr. Boomer yet? Still teaching? |
I am dropping the PhD this year. I lost motivation. I may go for an MBA now that I have been working in Corporate America for 2 year. I am interviewing for a Training Manager spot tomorrow. It'll be a small step up.

I'm back in sales with specific category & channel responsibility as well as having marketing responsibility for the total channel. The team I am working on is awesome and my category business is almost managing itself at this point. Anything I do from now 'til the end of the year should be incremental. So, that should leave me plenty of time to focus on the marketing which, at this point, should be a lot of .com stuff. I can't wait to start incorporating my photoch0ps into some of the brand marketing! :gsmile:
P.S. - Did you see my PM? |
Lucky! I have been getting more and more interested in marketing. I may look to do MBA in that...or finance.
I just replied to pm. Mother is in town and does not like to surf TA for some reason. |

What have you done recently that you're proud / happy about? |
Survived 4 weekends looking after 3 kids under the age of 6 and not managed to go completely insane in the process and dampened the enthusiasm to have any of my own.
Survived a fairly vicious daily workout routine for the last 5 months to shape my butt, thighs, calves, bit more definition to arms, shoulders and stomach. It allowed me to eat like a complete animal, (which was fun) but now back to just maintaining it.
This year should be easier to live with financially, things are back to a much more sluggish pace and a bit more predictable, which will be a relief after the last 2 years. |

really solidified my production skills, and currently have 9 tracks signed to 4 different labels (including 2 remixes).. the only down side is none are out yet, 2 will definitely not come out on one label (they're , and the labels anyway so don't mind), and the others are just on the list... only bad thing about labels is no controllllll :p
happy about getting a bit of recognition from people who aren't biased though, and have been getting really good feedback lately :)
-started doing a lil bit of djing as well, but really don't like the politics, so I just play when i'm asked :)
finish uni this year too, and decided not to go into honours etc as i'm really sick of uni (even though i've gotta do a postgrad) so will be finishin upppp :) |

I am in Vegas and will not be relocating, which really limits schools. Anything driving distance?
Really the only two schools I am considering are the UCLA Weekend program or the crappy one here at UNLV. Although I am applying to Harvard too just in case :wtf: |

UCLA is pretty good. I was gonna recommend Haas at Berkeley, but that's double the distance from Vegas to LA, so prolly not convenient for you. Stanford isn't much closer. My only suggestion if you go evening is to research each department, especially finance, and investigate what courses the most awarded and celebrated professors are teaching; they almost always will teach the full-time students, and alternate with the part-time students, so if you time it right, you'll catch the benefit of the full-timers at a part-time price. Also, take every opportunity to get involved with the school (e.g. run for PT student president and if there isn't one, create it--it's the best way to connect yourself with the Dean and heads of departments so that you again, reap the benefits of being involved: references, insider job opportunities, without the price of FT.
If you apply to Harvard make sure you also include Northwestern in Chicago (Kellogg). University of Chicago is also extremely reputable in finance & economics (moreso economics traditionally, but they are known for thought leadership across the board). |
