I just bought this and popped a capsule. I hope things go well.

It's pretty simple, don't be an idiot. If you're going to roll, wait at LEAST two weeks in between, preferably at least a month. Take 5-htp once or twice a day every day, and you should be fine. Like anything, too much of something is bad for you, but is relatively harmless in moderation.

I know people that have rolled 50-100 times, but over an 8 or so year period, they are completely normal and have good jobs, etc. I ALSO know people who rolled 50-100 times in a 6 month period, and they fit into the "e-tard" category.

That being said...moderation, exercise, 5-htp, and Sander van Doorn

Yeah it's good for that, as well as for decreasing the negative effects of the comedown. Basically all it does is increase your body's production of serotonin (5-ht). It has even been used in Europe as an anti-depressant.

Incidentally, it is the perfect remedy for someone who periodically misplaces a large amount of their serotonin :eyespop:

Ever heard of the placebo effect? I'm not saying those products aren't effective, but it's impossible to measure their worth for you. You can only trust.

There's apparently a bunch of people who try and get as close to death as possible. When you die, your body flushes your system with as much serotonin as possible to make you feel better (assuming you didn't die instantly), so these guys go chasing this feeling.
ing spastics if you ask me :wtf:

Have you got a link for this? I've heard of this with DMT, which is why people have out-of-body experiences when they're close to death, but never with serotonin. I'd be interested to read about it.

No, but I have heard of the placebo effect.

These work very well for me.

Increasingly more and more, they are finding that few, if any, anti-depressants can pass the sugar pill test. And this includes the old "tried and true" drugs that are being prescribed. In this Wired Magazine article a few months back, they talk about a good bit. Pretty interesting to see the desperation they describe.

Nah I don't, it was a part of a program on one of the doco channels that I caught the tail end of.
I'm actually pretty interested to read up on it too so I'll post some links if I find anything decent.

A large portion of that is also because anti-depressants are over-prescribed. So many people get the Rx who don't need it, which can help to explain some of that.

Actually everything is over-prescribed these days.

Read the article. It doesn't even touch on that. It talks about a drug that wasn't even in the marketplace. One that was still in testing, that once it went to phase 3 trials, it died. Why? Because the sugar pills worked just as well. This is what the article was talking about. Not the over prescription. Which while I totally agree with that, the point was that anti-depressants are just as effective, if not less effective, than a sugar pill.
