android vs iphone (pg. 2)

i have a google nexus one, my gf has a iphone 3gs. i have zero of her 25 daily complaints about her phone (drop calls, broken apps, no support from at&t, etc.) Just because iphone at this time has 2x the amount of apps' doesn't make it better. there about 50,000 just retarded apps out there, from ones that monitor your bowel movements to ones that tell you when to wash your car. w/ android being completely open source i can tell you more people would rather write for that then apple's increasingly vigilante anti-trust platform. you can search both apples & android's market place online, i bet the apps you want are supported on both platforms.

this is the first phone in my life that has completely changed my day-to-day. i use google docs, google calendar, google maps, nav, etc on a daily basis (about 5 calendars all sync'd flawlessly to my phone). i don't know how i did it before but getting this phone has def helped me with my job, personal life, etc.

i do not work for google, though re-reading this... maybe i should.

+1 to the google docs/calendar/nav integration. If you use them, you must get the android.

I also agree that the iPhone App Store has a lot of pointless apps, but there are still more useful and eye pleasing ones than for the android. Good luck finding the really well developed apps on the android app market.

please explain what makes the iphone a better choice.

people that have had switched from the iphone to an android phone say they don't regret it and actually enjoy it more than the iphone.

what are your thoughts?

this is me, android dominates, full customisability, insanely quick phones (desire, nexus one, erricson xperia 10 all have 1ghz processors, and upto 600mb of ram! :eyes: )

iphones ing suck, they're solid, but you can't do anything with them... the apps are fine, but it's quality not quantity... iphones have some really good apps, but most of them are , or just pointless... android's apps are really good, and getting better all the time too :)

iphone is so outdated, seriously, the phone on it sucks, and all the hardware is outdated, the software is good, and really simple, but there's absolutely no customisability, which for me is a huge turn off...

oh, and get "doubletwist"... it's itunes for all phones, like android, blackberry etc, to sync music and vids, also converts vids for your device... :)

android is also great cause it comes with word documents, ability to read pdfs and all that , you can sync with macs and pcs etc etc

-The Incredible also has a 1Ghz processor
-The Iphone is not the worst piece of equipment ever made. It has some serious flaws, but it's good for people who aren't tech-savvy and want to be, especially since they can all annoy each other with questions about how to perform basic tasks, since such people tend to congregate.
-AT&T
-AT&T

If you fall into the category I described, buy an Iphone and you'll like it. If not, or if you, too, realize that being on AT&T is enough of a deterrent to override any other argument, get an Android.

I want my mom to get an iPhone bc it takes me 30 min to explain how to attach a photo to an email :eyespop: I know it will make everything simple for her.
Also, I want one for my dad. He got himself some Chinese rip off of iPhone a year ago & he really got what he paid for, it REALLY sucks.

With that being said, I think I'm gonna hold tight for my next contract renewal and get the Android no matter the cost! :gsmile:

checkout this HTC EVO 4g review :)

http://androidandme.com/2010/06/pho...-evo-4g-review/

HTC and android have heaps of phones out at the moment, i'm hoping to get a HTC desire soon, but this one looks sweet as too :)

the other good thing about the androids is that there are a number of differences between the phones, so you can choose your option, rather than with the iphone... 1 choice of hardware, one choice for software... android has a few hardware options, and heaps of software options, each of which you can customise... you can also hack androids and chuck on roms etc if you're a big enough nerd :p
